The relief valve on my well froze at one point last winter so I got one of these to replace it. The first one lasted less than a week before it began dribbling out the relief port. I figured I must have a partial blockage in my system, so replaced the filters and confirmed all the lines flowed freely. It still was drooling so I bought another and replaced that one. Problem solved...I thought. It's been six months or so and now this one is doing the same thing, just a slow drip drip drip. The filters are clean, the pipes all flow freely without blockage, so I have to conclude that the relief valve is the issue. Seems like they aren't very long-lasting units. Maybe that has to do with being in direct Texas sunlight (heat) but these two are the first I've had cause issues in 12 years. Guess I'll try something more expensive.

I used this to replace a 75PSI relief valve that had failed. It fit and operated as per the spec.

This little thing is saving my pipes and fixtures from wear and tear from our high water pressure from city pipes. Our main water line can spike up to 140psi at any given time even with a new ZW main water pressure reducing valve, so I jimmied my pipes with this little thing and the pressure has not gone above 85psi. This thing typically starts discharging smalls amount of water when pressure touches 75psi, and really pours it on around 80psi. But it also does spike to a high of 85psi max when main water line peaks, I’ll take 85psi over 140psi any day.
