This drill does cut very well and lasts due to the diamond cutting edge. This works best in a drill press which will hold it steady when starting.Hand held this is very difficult to start accurately because its very hard to keep on target, it skips and slides off super easily. It does recommend that you start cutting at angle and slowly move perpendicular as it starts to cut but this method is not perfectly accurate. Its not just this brand but this design which there are many. With drilling large holes in wood big hole drill bits have a small hole drill bit in the center as a guide but that doesnt work for ceramic. You can get this to work, it just takes patience.

The plastic shipping cylinder protected the heavy drill bit from damaging anything around it, however the cylinder was too small and distorted making drill bit removal/replacement very difficult.I wish a drill chuck adapter had been included as I had to source one locally.Diamond drill bit was extremely robust and performed flawlessly with no evident damage after use. Reusable storage sleeve provided perfect protection once bit was replaced into it.I find this specific manufacturer, who supplies various sized bits, to be of elevated quality in production of their tools over the past year.

it is not everyday you're going to need to cut a hole in tile this large; but for a shower fixture installation this accessory fits the bill. This bit will walk on you, so try it out on a practice hole first. Otherwise, it can get away from you and mar the exposed tile around the hole you are struggling to drill. Plastic body, so time will tell how durable this will be in the long run. You could spend considerably more on a big brand name bit that you may barely ever use, so this is a cost effective choice overall.

The Mgtgbao diamond core drill bit set is a steal for anyone who’s got some DIY skills. You need a bit of practice to get the hang of using these bits, so if you’re new to it, definitely try a few test runs on some scrap material first. Or, you could use a bit guide or a drill press to make things easier. The quality is pretty solid, especially for the price, since the big brands cost way more. I’ve only drilled a couple of holes for light fixture boxes (the 4" size is perfect) and in some tile so far, and it’s holding up great. I have struggled with tile before, it is is pretty tough, but these bits handled it no problem. They’re perfect for jobs where you can’t use water and need to drill dry; they stayed cool the whole time.

I’ve used this to make several ceramic coasters from extra ceramic tiles I had kicking around. The diamond core drill bit worked really well for my purpose and would work well for granite and quartz.
