The 1U server chassis I ordered for a PFSense router build, did not come equipped with a 1U power supply. Thus I had to spec one compatible with my case and power requirements. Luckily this Millipow 270W 1U PSU was available and looked to suit my needs.When it arrived, I was not impressed by the condition it was received. Most computer power supplies in my past came boxed from the factory, with accessories like mounting screws, adapters, etc.But this unit came in an open-end bag with a rubber band! Huh!??That is it, no pamphlets, manuals, anything else.I had to peruse the label on the chassis to confirm I got the correct spec-ed unit.This left a bad taste in my mouth. Most server power supplies mean business, and must be dependable. Constructed and designed for greater reliability. And usually come boxed!So I proceeded to install this PSU into my 1U server case. At first it didn't seem to fit properly, blocked by the internal fan housing stud. (see photo). But some investigating and manipulating did get the PSU into place. But there were no supplied screws. But I had a few spare ones lying around from my old DVD drive.This PSU requires the finer machined thread screws to attach, not the regular course thread screw for desktop ATX PSUs.Everything installed as it should and it fired up as it should. The exhaust fan wasn't any louder than most server PSUs.Time will tell just how reliable this "plain wrapper" Milipow 1U power supply will be.

If you are after an affordable flex atx PSU this isn’t a bad option. It’s a rebranded FSP 80 Plus power supply which is a decent brand. I was a little skeptical so I plugged it into my power supply tester. All the voltages passed and are with the limits. Not that it is lacking the 3.3V on its SATA power cables if that’s important to you. Overall it’s a power supply and doesn’t seem like a fire hazard, although I will need to do stress testing to ensure that.
