It works great! High quality metal! And I love how big it is, can get a lot of tomatoes processed at once. I use one for processing tomatoes and apples for applesauce. Great arm workout too lol. The only thing I haven't figured out how to clean it really well. It's just a little awkward to clean because of all the parts. If you don't have one get one! Worth your money!

All it does is smooth the food under the blade, regardless of how tight the nut is or how you angle your grip to try and get some pressure on the back edge of the blade. And the arms that hold the mill on the pot are hopelessly weak and bend with the slightest pressure.Sorry, I really hate to write these kinds of reviews - but super dissapointed.

2024 Update: I’m still using this 3.5 quart food mill! It’s in the same condition as when I purchased it over ten years ago. Easy to use, easy to clean, very durable!During my childhood, my parents had a huge garden and we traded produce with neighbors. They did their fair share of canning, too... anything tomatoes (stewed, sauce, juice), fruit jams, beans, pickles, relishes - you name it, you could find it in our basement fruit closet! Now that I've been participating in a produce co-op, I wanted to ramp up my own food preservation and needed a food mill.Due to my online research, I chose this 3.5 quart food mill and I am extremely pleased! It works just as well and seems to be as durable as the one my parents used. So far, my daughters and I have made three large batches of apple butter. The only things we did to the apples were washing and removing the stems.. we let the food mill take care of the rest. Although some food does tend to stay on the sides (just like what I remember as a child) it's easy to scrape it down with a spatula now and then. The rotating handle is comfortable, all the components are durable, same action as the old food mill (clockwise for several turns, then counterclockwise to scrape the bottom, repeat), rests very well on a large bowl or pot. I hand-washed the nut/spring/scraper, and put the mill and handle/paddle in the dishwasher - cleaned up extremely well! I used a toothpick to remove a few apple bits which didn't come off in the dishwasher, but that was no big deal. The only thing I don't care for is the metal “bar" handle - it is somewhat uncomfortable to hold after a while since it is not solid. I tried to use a silicone potholder as a cushion, but that made it kind of difficult to hold.Considering everything all the pros and one little con, my daughters and I rate this a FIVE! Super-great kitchen tool! Mirro... change that handle to a solid piece and this food mill would be perfect!
