This tool is very well built. The measurement is stable, precise and repeatable. There is zero loose in the mechanism.

I have had this for some time oil so have given it a good test. It is of excellent quality and works well. I have changed the batteries several times which shows how much I have used it.Thoroughly recommended.

Great product for the amateur engineer. Easy to use with very repeatable measurements. The option of absolute or relative measurements is very useful. For professional use, I would suggest the version with carbide tip.

I've got a banged-up old analog Mitutoyo vernier that I've had in my possession for over 30 years. It's still an amazing piece of kit and a joy to use, but it's had a rough life. The tips of both the inner and outer calipers are rounded out making it useless for measurement that requires tip to tip cobtact, though it's still perfectly good when using the unabused inner faces.I've wanted a new device for intricate measurement for some time and having recently caught a YouTube video review of this particular piece, I decided to bite the bullet and splash out.This unit doesn't feel quite as robust as my old vernier just because of the plastic furniture surrounding the display, but it's got a nice heft to it, the thumbscrew is positive and it's easy to make small adjustments. The motion of the jaws along the backbone of the device is smooth and the feel of the device in the hand is good.I'm used to the vernier scale on my old unit, but the digital display is certainly much quicker to read and the repeatability of measurement is staggering, most of the time it's spot-on with occasional changes to the last digit being measured. Very, very good.I'll be surprised if this new device lasts as long as the old, but in terms of it's fit and finish and usability this is a quality tool and I can highly recommend it.
