I must say these work great for hinges and any other pilot holes when you want the pilot hole perfectly centered. I even used it to center holes at each end of a slot to hang my speed squares on a French Cleat wall.

overall product works well, but find it a bit big and clunky with the the locking sleeve system.

Have used one before, great tool for fixing hinges to the doors, first one broke but was used on lots of doors.
