In process of restoring an 1988 F250. Once installed, OBD1 code reader kept giving me Code 22, "MAP Sensor out of Range." Which was causing RPM to be 1500-2000 RPM at idel, Spout Advance Timing Circuit not readable (Code 18) too. Ordered a Delphi MAP Sensor from Napa Autoparts and immediately fixed my issues.I am guessing this MAP sensor isn't even Motorcraft, rather a Chinese knockoff replica with a Motorcraft sticker.

Replaced this on my 1988 For Ranger. Help clear up some engine misfire issues I’d been having intermittently. Much cheaper here than at O’Reilly’sOr Autozone

Not sure what all the fuss is. If you can somehow get an older MAP sensor, then yes it has Ford embossed on it, but good luck with that. All of the new Motorcraft MAP sensors for this part number don't have anything embossed on them. I got the real part, came in authentic Motorcraft sealed bag, and has FOMOCO sticker. Product works fine so far, can't say if it'll last like the old one though..

I'm only so savy with how Amazon works so this purchase was ok at best. The reason is the service afterwards. The part worked for about a few months, about 500 miles or so then stopped working. Motorcraft says there is a year warranty and it is very tough to get Amazon to assist with this overall. I am using the original as my back up (27 years old as part turned out to not be bad) and then tried a cheaper part that is working much better. If there is a year warranty on a car part it can be tough to get help when something goes wrong.
