Out of the box and working in about 15 minutes, less if you can read fast. Does and very accurate job and the results look clean and professional. Etched a photo and you can see every detail. I could have even gone up in quality but this was a test run. The machine is capable of excellent results for your hobby or business.

Unit looked fine and well built that being saidI could not get it to work with the program they sent or from their website could not get the mobile app to work. No matter what I research it watched a lot of you tube videos plain and simple never worked based solely on the others that have purchased it all agree something was or is wrong with the programming

First, no instructions. You have to download the 80-page manual from the included USB drive (no problem, I have a printer, done). The instructions are terrible (terrible x100). The software installation page is bad, but okay, I have a lot (a whole lot) of experience in tech and with computers (I run a 36" laser and commercial vinyl sign cutter all the time with 20+ years of graphic design experience and former computer store owner - so, I feel like I know my stuff). The software on the USB drive is 7 years old - installed it and it just doesn't "see" the laser ... and Windows "sees" the laser, but manually updating the driver fails every time (can't find it). Went to the website, downloaded the (May, 2024) driver and software package ... installed it, still doesn't work (and the software defaults to Chinese). Windows still can't properly see the laser (and neither can the newer software) so it just fails to detect the laser and defaults to "demo mode" (which does nothing. So, I am returning it and reminding myself that you get what you pay for (and this is not expensive in terms of fiber lasers, and now I know why).Save yourself all the hassle and trouble I just went through and steer clear of Mr Carve.

I have no issues with this device at all. Very easy to use, very good build quality, it’s fast, and efficient. I would say totally worth the money.

get 20W instead of 2W if your applications are metals. you can still can shallow depth if you keep repeat the process (say 100 times). Note: better result on hard metal like stainless steel. On silver there is very easy to remove marks due to shallow depth and soft metal.The software is straight forward, when you enter correct parameter (come with in the manaul) you are start to go. When you in right focus, the laser sound can be heard clearly. If focus is slightly off there will be no sound.
