Nice material, easy to cut, perfect thickness. It has a plastic coating on one side that peals off, to protect the shine. Good purchase.

I got this unit thinking that for $50 I would be lucky that it even works. It arrived and I was surprised to find out that I had wireless connection throughout the entire house with no dropout. The unit also came fully charged.Yes the product is made out of plastic and I wouldn't use this in my touring band, but for practice and light use or even 1 or 2 local shows this would definitely fit my needs. Overall 8/10 product for the price and I'm a tech full time so I'm pretty critical when it comes to value for money

Rebuilt a vintage Telecaster with my son, and the original pickguard just did not fit any more. So, we decided to go FULL custom, and made a router template out of plywood. This material was extremely easy to work with, and produced professional results, even with my home-made router table and amateur skillset. Our first attempt was a bit shaky, and the second scratched before we finished the build (my own mistake, not the material), so I bought another piece and we got it right!Note: If it seems WAY scratched and scuffed and not glossy while you're working on it, don't fret! That's just the protective plastic layer. Sometimes there are two layers, so make sure you're down to the super-glossy finish before you get worried (like I did).BE AS PRECISE AS POSSIBLE WITH YOUR ROUTER TEMPLATE. Any little bumps, nicks, or imperfections WILL transfer to the finished product, so make your edges super smooth and mark which edges you want chamfered and which you want to remain square, etc. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure - or, in this case, having to re-making my template 3 times.. trust me, it's worth it. Take your time, and you'll produce incredible results!Comes packaged with corner protectors, wrapped in plastic bagging, and the material itself has a layer or two of nice plastic cling-wrap to protect it while routing. Literally couldn't have asked for a better result, and with a 45-degree chamfer, the sandwich proportions are ideal. Thanks for making our Tele come to life!!One last thing - expect to get little "oreo" flakes EVERYWHERE if you plan to rout this on a table (like I did). I am still finding them in my pockets, in the corners of my garage, even on the dogs randomly (must have travelled inside with me)! Again, this isn't a problem with the product; it's just one of those things that comes with the territory / material / method. Once the static disperses, you'll be able to sweep them up.

If you need a backplate or tremolo cover, and have the ability to make one yourself, this is an easy choice. I usually cut to rough shape with tin snips then final shape on my belt sander. But I'm sure there are many usable methods.
