The best snow shoes I've ever used. I use them in roufh terrain in the bush. Tough product I recommend these to any snow shoer.

These are great snow shoes for the right conditions. I live in southern Ontario where we do not get much powder, mostly freeze thaw cycles. This leave a lot of dense snow and ice underneath. These have great traction with enough flotation for the amount of powder we actually get. I have used them quite a bit with no signs of real wear on the shoes or the cleats. The one thing I did change was the direction of the clip on the strap by the toe, by reversing it the strap stopped popping out. I really love these snow shoes and can't wait to get back out on them next season.

I needed some new technical snowshoes for hiking in the Adirondack High Peaks. These came highly recommended based on the conditions in the Adirondacks.I've been using these for 2-3 months on various hikes, mostly 15-20 mile day hikes with mixed terrain consisting of packed trail, deep powder, ice, rock and lots of elevation gain. The snowshoes have held up great so far. The traction is very good, even in some steep icy conditions. Places where I would usually need to switch to microspikes, I've been able to power through with these snowshoes. The televator bar is amazing; I don't know how I lived without it. It's a little tough to work at first, but once it broke in, I was able to lift and lower it using my trekking poles. When it comes to deeper powder, they struggle a bit. I purchased the extra tails for additional float, but the difference was negligible. If you're planning on spending a lot of time in deep power, or breaking trail, I'd recommend a snowshoe dedicated to those conditions.I've only found one super annoying flaw, and it's the straps. They're a headache to lock into place, and definitely not glove or mitten friendly. There's a weak point where the strap wraps around and you lock into place with a metal peg on the binding, which slips into the hole in the strap. I've broken at least one binding strap on every single hike I've been on, and it's always at this weak point. I think the pressure on the strap, combined with the cold weather, and the metal binding, causes it to weaken and break. I've purchased extra straps to take with me, but they're not cheap. These are great snowshoes and I have no regrets. Fix the strap issue, and these would be a perfect pair.

My husband and I are new to snowshoeing. We were looking for a fun sport opposite our kayaking adventures. When we buy things, I look at features and durability. This fit both for us. I love all the metal spikes both under the ball of your foot but also down the sides. Excellent feature on ice and deeper snow and more fun when you feel stable. Haven't used the heel riser yet for inclines but there will be a day that will come in handy. We also liked the bindings. The rubber is replaceable but we've been out for 2 seasons in them and never had an issue. Plastic parts break over time and that's what I like on these is the heavy rubber to metal bindings. Built to last a long time. The snowshoes are well made plastic, they are lighter and easy to keep going. Also got the tails for blazing your own trail in deeper snow. Like that you can remove them when you don't need them.Wisconsin gets it's fair share of snow. Very happy with our purchase 2 years in.

So these are like 2 oz heavier than the lightning ascents? Shouldn't even be a question because when I'm walking over rocks and roots on trails with patches of no snow, which is common down in Socal, I'm glad I have the hard plastic body instead of the fabric alternative. The traction on these are phenomenal. I will use these over crampons in every situation I've encountered and can think of. After working on my form I can walk up a steep slope of soft snow with ease. We're talking 35-40 degrees on the Baldy Bowl. The strap system doesn't bother me at all. So don't look here for critical feedback on that. What else can I say, I have ran down Devil's Backbone on Mount Baldy in these. I've walked up ice covered Moro Rock in Sequioa in the middle of winter and I didn't slip for even one step. These have made hiking in the snow more enjoyable than any other piece of gear. Thank you Mountain Safety Research :)
