Super versatile light to be used on any level of photo or video set.Plenty of control options built into the end of the light.Lighting styles, color temp, brightness etc.Built in battery but also comes with power supply and everything you need. All stored in a great carrying bag with plenty of padding to keep light safe.Love this thing, cant wait to use on my next project.

I've used a lot of different tube lights and am pleased with the NANLITE Pavotube II 15C. It's a pretty lightweight light that comes in a handy, padded carry case with three zippered pouches: one for the light, one for the accessories, and an empty third one - presumably for a second light. It has a built in battery and includes an AC adapter (to charge or power the light off of AC power), a couple metal hanging cords, and a plastic clip (more on this in a bit). So everything you need to get started.DESIGNThe tube itself comes with a clear plastic casing completely encasing the tubed portion of the light (in fact, the whole thing feels like plastic, with hardly any metal to be seen on the outside). On each end of the tube are pretty large caps, so you'll see significant gaps in the light between tubes if placing them end to end. At one end is the DMX and DC power ports, the other end (near the screen) has a USB-C port (can be powered and updated using this port) and two click/twist buttons for changing settings. The ends are 6 sided, so the tube won't roll around and can be positioned in 60° rotational increments. There are also "ears" on each end with holes so fishing line (or whatever) can be tied on and the tube can be hung.If you want to screw something in, there are no built in 1/4-20 or 3/8-16 holes on the tube. Instead, there is a clear, plastic clip with a couple 1/4-20 holes. While the clear clip doesn't impede the light from shining through, it doesn't feel particularly robust. The tube diameter seems about standard, so you can probably use the more standard metal clips that are common on set (and are pictured being used on the product page).IN USEIf you've used one tube light interface, you've likely used them all. The interface offers CCT, RGB, FX and settings menus, with the standard array of choices. The light seems to work just as well as any other from the major manufacturers and the app was simple to connect and change settings. I was also able to update the light to the newest firmware via the app, so didn't need to use the USB-C port to update. Color saturation feels nice, there are a good number of FX options, and it gets pretty bright. The plastic clip appears to have some padding to keep the clear protection over the tube from getting scratched up. I don't know that it feels like it's durable enough for frequent set use, but maybe it'll surprise me. I like that the light also has a center of balance mark to make it easy to find the gravitational center when putting the clip on. Once clipped on, the tube doesn't slip or slide at all, so stays securely in place.CONCLUSIONThis is a good option for a medium sized tube. It's easy to use, puts out a good amount of light, and the battery life seems decent. I don't like the choice to go with a plastic clip as the only way to have 1/4-20 holes on the tube. Part of that is due to the plastic outer build, so there are no metal surfaces for mounting holes to be inset into the body of the light. This does have the advantage of keeping it very lightweight. The app is simple and makes changing settings handy. The padded bag is a bit large for just one single light, but works fine. I wish the ends didn't have such large, unlit caps, as it makes the gaps between lights a lot larger than I would prefer. But overall, I'm fairly pleased.
