Review for: "NEEWER Upgraded LED Video Light Stick & 2.4G Remote Kit, Handheld Dimmable 3200K-5600K CRI97+ Video Lighting with Stands/Filters/Carry Bag for YouTube Video Recording Photography Gaming, BH20B"Build quality is okay, made of metal and plastic. It comes with light stand, which is very basic. A good bag, , 2.4Ghz remote control, power adapter and 4 color gels.It produce 2675 lux @ 50 cm @ 5600K with 92.54 CRI, R9: 60.3Turn down the color temperature to 3200K it produce 2470 lux @ 0.5 m with 97.7 CRI R9: 89.1Seems that the white led bead is not good quality, where the yellow led is much better (this reelect on CRI and R9 measurement). The remote controls is RF (instead of IR) which is good. By default the light is set at channel 8 while the remote is default to channel 1. So need to tweak a little bit to make it work. I use NP-F970 as power source and it runs very well.I already have lots of carbon fiber light stand that much better than one that comes with this package.I would rather it doesn't come with mediocre light stand, but improve the light bead quality for perfect color rendition from 3200K to 5600K.Need improvement to make it a very good light source.

What I like most about this LED light stick kit is that it features dual power. You can either plug it to the wall with the included power adapter, or if you have NP-F type batteries you can power it with that as well. The circuit routs between the two light sources seamlessly so even if you had to unplug it from the power outlet with a battery already installed on, it will switch directly to the battery without shutting off or flickering; just continuous power. In reality, the battery powered mode does actually output slightly dimmer light at 100% than when it is plugged to the wall, but the difference isn't super noticeable. I do wish that the battery mode would instead top out at say 90% instead of having 100% for two different actual outputs. The rest of the product is pretty well made too. The light is solid and the joint holds really well its angles. There are no 1/4" mounts anywhere so it will only mount to a light stand, of which one is included in this kit. The light's diffuser does rattle a little bit but that's due to the design that lets you slide a gel in front of it, where a narrow channel is available to serve as a rail. The quality of the light is good. The color temperature range isn't the largest, going from 3200K to 5600K but it does cover most of the commonly used CCT. The built-in diffuser doesn't manage to fully diffuse the light, so it can cast faint staggered shadows. Thankfully the shadows are relatively faint but definitely visible. But the color rendering index is good so the quality of what is illuminated is quite pleasing. The controls are also pretty simple and effective. The control wheel is velocity sensitive so you won't be able to rely on angle of rotation to effectively set very specific A-B points, that said that's not typically a use case one needs to often make with a light. It is unfortunate that this light does not have built-in Bluetooth though, as the Neewer app works very well and does make quick adjustments very easy to do.Which brings us to the question... do you just pay more for the RGB version that also has app support? This means eliminating the need to use color gels too. If this form factor of lights is what you need, and that you really want the flexibility of having colors and/or effects, it might be worth it. It'll be around 40% more expensive and sometimes as an incomplete kit (not always with a light stand, but with a built-in battery). I think most people will use this for static lighting and also for lighting backgrounds of a set, so I don't necessarily think a RGB version is super important but that of course depends on your needs. So, honestly this is a pretty solid product. It's priced this way because it comes with the complete kit with light stand and all. The carry bag does feel a little weirdly designed as soon as you remove the internal box (for the light stand) and all but it still serves its purpose well---though maybe keep the foam tray for your light itself. The kit only further improves in versatility if you own NP-F batteries which aren't that expensive either and can provide faster recharge via battery swap compared to an internal battery. Not a bad choice by any metrics in my opinion!

This is a well designed "stick" lighting fixture. It has some very nice features, and it actually looks good! Not that looks is everything, but if you are freelance or own a small studio, good looking gear can help secure a new client. You look more "pro"!This unit has an outer skin made of aluminum, and painted a nice "steel grey" colour. On the top side, you have a battery compartment that accepts industry standard F550,F750 and F970 batteries. (7.2V) A positive battery lock keeps the battery in place, should you be moving the fixture around. It has a nice "click" when you insert a battery, too. That's important because you want to make sure your expensive battery is going to remain on the lighting fixture!Below the battery, there is a small LED screen that displays colour temperature, brightness and battery strength. You can toggle from colour temperature (displayed with two large, first numbers, followed by two small "00" digits) and the Channel you are on, for when using the remote control.Next is a rotary wheel for moving the brightness or colour temperature up or down. At the very bottom, there are three small buttons - one of "on/off", one for "CCT/CH) and one for brightness. As there is only one rotary switch, the function has to be shared. Hence, the CCT/CH and "lightbulb" icon. The unit can be handheld, as the base of the fixture is about 5 1/2" long. It also has a few hash marks to make your grip a little better. The bottom of the base allows for a standard 5/8" lighting stand. A large set-screw located just above the base, lets you lock the fixture onto the lighting stand. As changing the angle of the fixture is very important, this one has that feature, too. In order to keep the angle locked into position, Neewer has made the joint with four "finger joints". This allows for a lot of friction area, which means that an adjustable angle will be held without any sag. There is also a set-screw at this joint as well.If you have AC power available, you can go the route with the supplied power supply. It's one of those universal power supplies (100-240v) that puts out 12v to the lighting fixture, with a ten foot cord.I should also mention that this lighting fixture runs cool, even at full power (21watts).Included in the bottom of the excellent carry bag (nice foam insert to hold light, remote, colour gels and power cable, is a nice two-stage 6 foot light stand. Yes, it does support the stick light (remember to have a leading leg in the same direction as the tilted lamp), but you might want to add a sandbag just to make sure it does not go over. It is a very nice stand, as it uses a clamp that tightens onto the next stage pole, rather than a simple set-screw that just pushes into the pole. Many times, people get too excited and end up deforming the pole because the set-screw pushed the pole out of shape. Actually, easy to do!The remote control works well. I usually don't use them much myself, but if you are using this fixture as a backlight for a interview or a product shoot, it is a real joy to watch the monitor and make the adjustment to brightness and/or colour! There are no barn doors, but with a roll of "black wrap", you can quickly fashion something. Even with a little bit of cardboard and gaffer tape, you can make the fixture into a tighter spread. The unit is 21watts. That's about as small as I would want to go. Neewer also has a higher powered unit that is identical to this one, but at 40watts. That's a big difference. You can always drop the 40watt unit down to 21watt, but you can't go the other way! Of course, there is a price difference, and this model at 21watt is a great deal.Bottom Line - A terrific product from the folks at Neewer. It is a good looking lighting fixture, and the soft light that it creates, is excellent! Comes complete with a nice case, AC power, lighting stand, colour gels. Makes for a great backlight on interviews by being able to adjust the lighting from the camera position. Nice!

I am amazed with this light, it illuminates a lot and can be adjusted in many ways, the quality is excellent, you can take professional photos with this lamp. The only bad thing to say is... it comes without batteries so you have to buy them separately. But this lamp works great!
