I titled this review as "Athletic boots" because these boots do not feel like typical hiking boots. They feel like a pair of running shoes in support, comfort and weight. The style and look of these boots are very rugged as one would expect, but these are by far the lightest and most comfortable pair of boots that I own. I haven't hit any trails with them yet, but I have spent the past four weekends doing spring yardwork all weekend, and my feel feet feel great at the end of those long days.As far as materials go, the outer boot is some sort of faux suede. I'm usually not a fan of this at all, especially in a boot where I need durability more than cost or weight savings. However, after working in this pair outdoors the past few weeks, I quickly became spoiled to the weight savings. Durability is not scarified either. Part of the last few weekends included weed eating, tilling our small garden, mulching the landscaping and spreading fertilizer across our half acre. At the end of each day, I simply hit my boots with a quick blast from my 2300 PSI pressure washer and dropped them under a fan do dry. My feet never once got wet during any of the work or during the pressure washing events, and the faux suede material has no nicks or blemishes whatsoever. Very pleased with the look, performance and durability.

First, its important to know that I never give a 5star review, because there is always room for improvement. I have several other pairs of Nortiv's and they're all great. My newest pair are especially good . They're light, watertight and comfortable. I live in the PNW where its against the law not to hike every week. I got these for a trip and am breaking them in before I go. They're light, comfortable and durable. If you're thinking about buying a pair, do it!

These shoes are very comfortable and they help with your posture. I haven’t had any back trouble in these shoes and I will be purchasing them again.
