this is an excellent camera! I was blown away not just by the quality, but that the camera has useful built in functions to zoom, track and follow with simple hand gestures that works quite well! Highly recommend

So, I'm probably underutilizing this camera, since I largely just use it for video meetings at work, but that said, it does seem like a nice camera, and I can definitely see the utility of the gesture sensing and auto-focus for people who are actually making videos. I tried out the gesture zoom and I thought that was pretty cool. The auto-focus seems like it works okay, but it takes a second to catch up. That said, choosing frame rate over resolution seems odd. Unless you're actually shooting videos with a lot of fairly fast movement, I'm not sure what the value-add is there. I'd rather just have better resolution, but I guess that's just me. Either way, it works great for meetings, so I'm perfectly happy with it.

I used to use those "cheap" top-of-the-monitor cameras simply because I needed a camera for meetings. What I didn't realize is I needed the RIGHT camera for my needs.A basic camera gives you basic features. For most people, that might be just fine. I was one of those people until I looked for the possibilities and options I could get from a web camera. This one gave me more than I expected.First... it fits nicely on my monitor WITHOUT interfering with my view. My previous two web cameras had a little extra plastic over the front mounting lip that encroached the screen area by 1/4 inch. This camera does not do that. I can see my entire computer screen and the camera still sits firmly on top.Second, not all webcams have a lens cover, or if they do, you have to slide it on and off manually. This camera does not have a lens cover either, BUT it has a pan/tilt feature which automatically turns down the camera and hides the lens when it's not being used. You can see the "parked" position in the picture. It took me a while to learn that this is an automatic feature. I would always manually turn the camera down when done, and then it stayed in that position. I forgot to do that once, and after about 30 seconds when I shut down my meeting app, I saw the camera park the lens all by itself. I never have to actually touch the camera again. When the camera is not being used by any application, it pans down and shuts off. When you run an application that uses the camera, it will turn on and pan up on its own and center on your face.Finally (for my needs at least) it will follow your movements when in active use. This comes in handy when I need to move my seat or lean to one side for any reason. The camera will track my face and keep me centered. I can use hand gestures to make it stop panning. I can even use hand gestures that make it zoom in and out to any position I wish. Again, I never really need to touch the camera at all. It just sits there and makes itself ready for use as needed.The little tripod it comes with makes it even more versatile, along with the fact that it can screw onto any other standard threaded tripod. This makes it useful for on-the-go people and bloggers.

I already have an Insta 360 web cam like this OBSBOT Tiny SE Webcam-1080P. They both are very small webcams that have pretty cool motors to move the camera around. The insta 360 is pretty straightforward, and I love that I can "move" the camera by dragging on the display, and zooming in too. The OBSBOT doesn't have that feature. It does have a lot of other digital effects (like face smoothing,etc.) And for a Zoom call, maybe these look ok. But for recording video, they look not great. So I've turned all that stuff off. Having said that, I do find myself using the OBSBOT camera a lot more than the Insta 360 camera. I'd say video quality is about the same.
