I'm working on a project that has a *lot* of outputs, so I ordered a bunch of screw terminals for my boards. I already have some 10-pin terminals, but I use this kit to bring the total up to what I need (16 or 18). They also work on perfboard or even on breadboards, so they're very convenient as well as compact. You'll need a jeweler's screwdriver to use them, but they work well and make secure electrical contact with wire. They do have quite a bit of metal that acts as a heat sink, so it takes a couple seconds longer to solder each pin than it would for a plain header, but that's a fairly minor and unavoidable issue.

I’ve been designing electrical equipment for decades, and often use terminal blocks for I/O. When space is not a concern I use standard .2” or 5.08mm spacing. They accept up to 12AWG wire, and cover just about any application. As devices continue to get smaller, I started using 3.81mm when space was a concern. They still accept up to 16AWG wire, and handle all but the highest current applications. But even the 3.81mm spacing dominated the size of a recent design, so I thought I’d try these with 2.54mm spacing. These need a special screwdriver like the 3.81mm blocks. And the maximum wire size is just 20AWG. That limits them to just lower current applications. But when needing a terminal block for connections in a very high density application, these are perfect for the task. This kit includes blocks with 2 to 4 terminals. The only negative is that they cannot be locked together to create a longer terminal block like the larger sizes. But then other manufacturers of this size do not support that feature either. So this is a great kit for prototype work.
