Some who have used the pencil think it is a bit heavy, but I like the feel of it and while a little expensive, it seems to be built to last a long time and for me, worth it. This ISN'T a BIC !

As an engineer, I've used mechanical pencils for well over fifty years. In my opinion, the three best mechanical pencils (for every day professional use) are the Pacific Arc, the Rotring 600 series, and the Retro 51 Hexomatic. All three mechanical pencils are very similar in that they have a hexagonal body with a knurled grip at the writing end. They are almost all the same size and weigh approximately the same. The biggest advantage of the Pacific Arc is price. It is half the price of the other two pencils for approximately the same quality (there is a slight quality advantage for the Rotring and Hexomatic, particularly in finish). All of these pencils are excellent.
