Absolutely a must have if you decide to go into your iMac desktop computer. Just make sure you remove all the adhesive strips and cleaning the surface with denatured alcohol before applying the new strips. I suggest using some clamps for at least 24 hours before relying on it to hold the screen in place. If not enough time is given and no enough pressure to make sure it seals properly, you might find the screen falling out and possible cracking.

Hey, it's basically sticky tape, hardly exciting. This kit however, it perfect for the job; all the parts are well cut to fit, there are little locator holes punched to line up with indents in the frame, and the adhesive is certainly strong enough to hold the screen in place indefinitely. Fitting was a breeze; lots of anticipation (as its a one-time product, no second chances), but when I actually got on with it, it was easy. Getting the protection strips off was a bit fiddly, but with a magnifying glass and some finger nail scraping its fine.My tips:- before you start, make sure ALL the old foam residue is removed. A bit of the actual adhesive is thin enough, but foam will make the seal not sit flat. Especially make sure its off the 3 antennas - you should see copper tracks, not black foam, but be gentle to avoid damaging them - I only used finger nails to scrape.- remove the backing partially and begin sticking one end, with a small tool through the locating hole (I used a torx 5) to get it in the right position, then work along removing the backing strip.- once all the strips are in place (with the top face protection still in place), reconnect the screen wires to the board- tape the screen in place temporarily with sellotape whilst you check that what you were doing inside has worked- place the whole thing on its back, remove the sellotape, slide the screen up an inch, remove the protection strips from the bottom edge, position the screen on the bottom edge (use a finger tip either side to ensure its aligned with the aluminium frame) and stick it down. Use the bottom edge as a hinge whilst removing the rest of the protection strips, and then gently push the screen into place (do all the rest at once, otherwise you wont be able to open it enough to get the next protection strip out!).My ONLY slight reservation (and it is slight) is the tape seems ever so slightly thinner than the original; I don't know if this will make it harder to remove it next time as there might not be as much room to get a tool in. But I'm hoping there wont be a next time!Looking at the finished job, it looks like it was before I started, so I have to say it's done the job I bought it for. Any way cheaper than getting Apple to even look at the machine, let alone fix it.
