Unfortunately, I had to return the first keyboard due to the J button not functioning, but the replacement arrived literally the next day after I contacted the vendor. After I installed the 2nd keyboard, I tested my laptop and concluded that everything worked perfectly.If this is your first time replacing anything on your laptop, it really isn't difficult, but rather tedious with a lot of unscrewing (note, make sure you have a T5 and T6 screwdriver as well as a phillips; tweezers highly recommended as well ) and find a good walk-through video on Youtube to guide you through the process.It will take a while, roughly, 2-3 hours, so patience is required and be sure to keep your pieces/screws separated and organized through the process.Would highly recommend vendor for future purchases. Thank you coming to my Ted Talk

Update: 2018-MAR-10New keyboard arrived and I just finished installing it, and I am updating this review using with the reassembled 13-inch Mid-2012 MacBookPro!The replacement keyboard is fantastic, so far. They keys look great and everything seems to be working as it should. As mentioned in my original review, and as seen in others', the feel of the keys is different to that of the original Apple keyboard. To me the keys feel "muted", both in sound and "bounciness". I can get used to this, and in fact may prefer this slightly more "stiff" keyboard to the original. But, whatever your individual preference for keyboard "feel", you can't beat the price of this replacement keyboard!Some tips for the non-techician that wants to do this replacement him/herself:1. Watch a few videos on youtube on this process. I suggest The 8-bit guy's video from some years ago.2. Have the right tools for the job. I'm using . It has all necessary bits for this project. A good magnifier is also good to have but not necessary. Bits I used where Phillips 00 and 000, T6 and Tri-wing 1 (but keep in mind: I am NOT a proper technician, just an average joe trying to fix his laptop!)3. Take your time. This isn't a beat-the-clock competition.4. Make notes so you know where each screw was removed from and which order each part was removed. I made a crude drawing of the internals placed each screw I removed on that sheet of paper, in the appropriate location. Then make sure your cat doesn't jump on that piece of paper!5. Take pictures for reference. Especially if you are not comfortable with this procedure and this project may take a few days to complete.6. Take your time!7. The ribbon is very trick to put back in its slot/connector. Take your time with it and don't force it! Otherwise, you risk damaging the ribbon. Practice with the old keyboard's ribbon to get the hang of it before trying it with the replacement keyboard's ribbon.8. Don't over tighten the screws as you replace them.9. Take your time and be patient.Original review:It shipped very quickly and arrived within a day with Prime. However, the first thing I noticed was that the main connector ribbon had a crease across it. I immediately requested to return the item.I am planning to place a second order for this item with the hope that the second unit will arrive undamaged and in working order. I will revise my review accordingly after I receive the second unit.Quite a few reviews indicate that the "quality" and "feel" of the keys aren't anywhere near that of the Apple's original keyboard. This is true. The keys look very nice and they press and return fine, but they seem "stiff" or "muted" compared to the original keyboard. However, for the price this keyboard is a great deal.
