This is part of a baby shower basket. Will be great for these first time parents to keep a door secure. Easy to use to keep the kids safe.

Our house has lever door knobs and our cats figured out how to open them. We don't let our cats out of the house and they figured out how to open the only door without a screen door. Great way to keep my toddler from escaping. Easy to install but buttons are hard to press which I figured to prevent kids from doing it themselves. I forget that it only locks from one side of the door so be sure not to lock yourself out. The adhesiveness works at sticking. It's best for white doors because it's not appeasing to look at with different colored door and sticks out. However this is a good price idea for It's functionality.

This baby-proof door handle lock does what we need it to. Our toddler is no longer able to get into the pantry. He doesn't really even try to anymore, now that he has learned that he won't be able to.Now for some criticisms:The lock sticks quite well to the door, and putting it on did not require any tools. But it does have to be held in place for several minutes for the glue to start hardening, and then requires a full day cure before it is at full strength. Leaving it alone for a full day is not exactly possible when you have a very active and curious baby in the house. We had to wait until just before we were taking a trip to put it on.Because the lock sticks so well, I worry about how we will get it off when we move out. Hopefully it is not too big of a concern.Finally, this latch advertises that it can be opened with only one hand. While that is technically true, it is a rather awkward process. And I think that anyone with small hands might have a good bit of trouble. That's good for deterring children, but some adults also have quite small hands.
