I was trying to make my Chevy Volt automatically select 12A vs 8A when connecting from house current 120V. Thought if I used a 120V to 220V adapter to my level 2 charging cable, it might bump to the higher amps by default. While the adapter works flawlessly, unfortunately my McGyver idea did not work. I still have to manually start the car and switch the charge mode to 12A, but its good to have another adapter to my L2 charge cord.

My welder has a 110/220 v option and this cord perfectly adapts the power source from a 30amp service to a standard 15amp household plug.

I bought this to use with my Nisssn Leaf's charger as I do not have 220v outlet at this time at home. It fits perfectly and does exactly what it is supposed to do. Very pleased~

Does what is expected, seems to be a quality product too, but wish I had noticed it's 110 plug wasn't angled before I ordered !!Creates WAY TOO MUCH STRESS on the outlet and cord itself which I'm sure will be responsible for it's future failure as it won't hang effortlessly from an outlet as an angled style plug does.Previous Parkwood adapters I have purchased were well made and did have angled plugs, prompting me to jump too quickly with this purchase.Pay attention to the product and look closely before choosing!
