I misplaced my 0.3 mm pencil and knew I wanted a Pentel after having used them for most of my career.I bought this particular one due to it coming with extra leads and an eraser-although after this many years as an engineer I no longer make mistakes!It arrived when expected, cost what I was willing to pay and makes fine lines on paper/vellum/mylar.Does what a pencil should!

Wanted a pencil with a very fine lead to write annotations in some manuals. I figured that a 0.3mm pencil with soft lead was better than a 0.5mm with harder lead.After a few months of daily use, I'm still happy with my purchase. (the orange one at the bottom of the picture)- I like the fact that you can remove the pocket clip, as I like to often rotate the pencil as I write.- It has a nice weight/balance- I prefer a fixed lead sleeve to a retractable oneWhen using it, keep in mind that the lead is 0.3mm... You'll need to use less pressure than a 0.5 or 0.7 pencil, otherwise you'll be breaking the lead...

Almost returned because I could not get lead to extend. Turns out a small piece of lead was stuck horizontally in the nib area. Fortunately, the front screws off, the metal sheath can slide off, the inner chamber and spring mechanism slides out and you can examine all parts to find the problem.

This pencil was very comfortable in hand when drawing. Love the weight and quality feel of this. Lines are smooth and loading lead is easy

I purchased the Pentel Arts GraphGear 300 (0.3mm) with a lead refill, and eraser. This pencil is great for fine details in art, and sketching lightly. It is weighted nicely, and fits in the hand quite well. This pencil however is not for the heavy handed, as the lead is delicate at this size. However, that being said... One could use this pencil to learn to be light-handed, as to not cause injury to your wrist down the road. If you press lightly, and take your time this pencil is amazing for detail. Overall, it is a great pencil and worth it for the price.
