We recently adopted a deerhound/newfy mixed dog and she has longer fur than a deerhound but similar texture. The slicker brush we had pulled on her fur no matter how much I held at the base and it was uncomfortable for her. We got this brush and not only does it work amazingly well at detangling and fluffing her fur but she doesn't act like she minds it at all especially compared to the slicker brush

Our Australian Labradoodle has a fleece coat and needs daily brushing. He HATES brushing because it pulls on his hair too much. He’s super sensitive to it. This brush has been a game changer. It gets him fluffy and detangled pretty quickly. He doesn’t like it but he lets us brush him so it’s a huge win. Use a detangler with this brush and you’ll be really happy. Also really good for getting those early mats out.

My handsome sweet baby sheds all day. His jobs are protect, eat, sleep, and shed. I’ve used many brushes (and still do depending on what season it is or daily brushing), and this is perfect for us. I love the tangle teaser for my daughter and I, so I thought why not? Let’s give it a shot for our little guy. He also has sensitive skin, and does not like certain brushes as it feels tender to him. This is nice and gentle on him while really getting a lot of that undercoat out. He was a happy little camper while I brushed him. I finished his grooming with a nice doggy cologne, and gave another quick brush down, and everyone noticed how much better his coat looks. I like this, but I could see it not working for certain fur types.

It is great for removing hair and mats on non-shedding dogs!
