This is a kit that includes the Raspberry Pi 500 and all the accessories you may need to make it a full linux based computer system. While this kit doesn't come with a computer monitor, you can always just cable the computer to your TV (using your TV as the computer's display) if you don't have a spare monitor lying around your house. For those who don't already know, a Raspberry Pi 500 is essentially an 8GB model of the Raspberry Pi 5 (a small moderately powerful linux based PC) that is built into a custom keyboard case. Since the Pi 500 is essentially a Pi 5 (just with a different circuit board and a custom case), the Pi 500 will happily run any Pi 5 software and also accept many of the accessories that you can get for a PI 5. So if you happen to already own a Pi 5 (as I did) you can copy any of your software from the Pi 5 to the new Pi 500. In fact I didn't even go through the basic Pi 500 setup, instead I just copied my main Pi 5 "boot disk" (my Pi 5 boot disk was a USB SSD) and plugged that copy into the Pi 500 (along with removing the micro-SD boot disk my Pi 500 shipped with). And with this arrangement I simply needed to power up my Pi 500 to have it bootup and run with the same software configuration my existing Pi 5 had.In my case I got the Pi 500 primarily as a "travel computer" to take with me on trips. And from that standpoint the Pi 500 is a better choice than my existing Pi 5, in part due to the Pi 500's keyboard that is built into its case (so I don't have to pack up and carry around a USB keyboard with my Pi 500, like I had to do with my Pi 5). However, since I only occasionally go on trips, I figured it wouldn't hurt to also use my Pi 500 as a spare computer around the house. And while the Pi 500 does have its own keyboard, I am able to confirm that plugging other keyboards into the Pi's USB ports (or in my case I plugged a USB hub into my Pi 500, and plugged the needed keyboards/mice into that hub) does in fact work. This is handy around the house, as it means I can use a wireless USB keyboard/mouse with my Pi 500, instead of having to reach over to the shelf where the Pi 500 is currently sitting on.As to cost, this kit was around $150 when I bought it. Since the retail prices of the Pi 500 (if you can find a place selling just the Pi 500 for list/retail price) is around $100, this means that the accessories included in this kit are being sold for around $50. From my look at the market, that is a good price for the accessories if you need all of them (but in my case I only needed around 1/2 of them for my use). Still I got this entire kit because I didn't have the option to just buy the Pi itself (for it's retail price) and then individually buy the few accessories I needed (and I did want to own a Raspberry Pi 500).And I also didn't like that this Amazon seller was from a different country (China perhaps?). Not only does this give me less recourse if any of this hardware has issues, it also means I only had the option of slower shipping (it took 2+ weeks for my kit to arrive). However this is a complete Raspberry Pi 500 computer kit at a reasonable price. So I bought this kit even though I had to wait for it to be packed up, go through customs, get shipped to the USA, and eventually get delivered to my home.
