Does the job with thin walled cookware such as camping gear. Not wide enough grip for thicker pans.

After some use on a camping trip, i realized how handy they are. We used them constantly, and have no signs of wear after a week of regular use.I really like how light weight they are. There is almost nothing to them, so it makes it easy to throw into your pack without having to worry about extra weight. They also double as tongs, which is a pretty good idea. I do wish that there was a way to lock them into the closes position when not in use, but they spring open to function as tongs. Also, there is a little bit of "play" in the movement, so when you are squeezing them down, they sometimes click because they are hitting the other part of the handle when it is closing. They are designed where one is narrow and one is wide, so the narrow piece fits inside the wider piece when it is closing. It is a pretty handy tool. It works on rimmed and rimless pots and pans, and holds them firmly. I don't have any concern that I will drop my pan. I would be careful with non-stick pans. This will almost certainly scratch your coating.

I love these! I love the set of two…and they are good for all sizes of pots and pans that we may use on the trail.
