The PlasticMill Rubber Bands - #64 Size measured in at 1 lb. I only counted 235 and not the 250 as advertised but that is by no means a deal breaker. What's in the bag: 235 rubber bands approximately 1 pound. As you can see in the picture above, relaxed these rubber bands measure in at 3". I was able to easily stretch the rubber band around a standard 2 x 4 that was 17.25" in length. I used this 2 x 4 since I had it handy. The rubber band would have easily gone another inch or two. I also took a small roll and a large (12") roll of bubble wrap and was easily able to stretch the rubber bands around them to hold the bubble wrap from unravelling. I also used them to hold packages of food closed. I purchased a 10 pound bag of French fries that had no recloseable top so I used the rubber bands to keep the bag closed in the freezer. Now for the burning question: Yes these rubber bands will fly across the room to shoot them at friends and family. Disclaimer: if you are going to shoot these at people, wear eye protection. Would definitely purchase again.

So far I have used these rubber bands for three purposes:1) Rubber banding cabinet knobs together to make them baby resistant. This is not the same as baby proof. I don't keep dangerous things at baby level. Baby resistant means that with these rubber bands securing two knobs together, it is less likely that my baby will get into the cabinet and spread, say, toilet paper rolls all over the bathroom floor. No guarantees on this if you have older kids who may forget to reinstall the rubber band after opening the cabinet.2) Closing a bag of chips. This probably wouldn't work for a very full bag of chips, but our family rarely leaves a bag of chips very full. If you ate most of the bag of chips and want to save the rest for next time, these rubber bands are here for you.3) keeping bento boxes shut inside of lunchboxes. If your kids have bento boxes that come without any sort of fastener, one of these bad boys wrapped around the outside will prevent the contents of said bento box from having a party all around the inside of their lunch box.My only small issue with these it that they have ever so slightly less stretch than typical rubber bands but this hasn't been a problem for us so I didn't deduct any stars.

Ever since we started using the green rubber bands that were used in the produce department of Whole Foods, we became accustomed to green as the only color that looks right for a rubber band. (There are probably many other customers out there who have gone through this same transformation.)So when Whole Foods stopped supplying rubber bands we naturally had to find some elsewhere. First we found Alliance Rubber 66325 number 32 on Amazon and bought a pound of those, which were almost identical to the ones at Whole Foods. Now we wanted a thicker rubber for other uses and it has to be green. This one pound bag of #64 green rubber bands from PlasticMill fits the bill exactly. It is ¼ wide and 3 ½ inches in circumference. The bands are very pliable and feel well made. The color matches our #32 rubber bands exactly. So now we have a proper rubber band for every occasion.
