Nice deep holes for lots of butter and cheese, couldn’t be more pleased with it!See some people complaining about water getting into it….. Obviously if it didn’t have a pinhole or two in it, the dish would explode in the oven from expanding air within it, and if it was solid instead of hollow it’d weigh a ton and be much more expensive. Wash it by hand, goofballs. Haha.If you like proper French Canadian style escargot with lots of butter and cheese, this is the perfect dish for that purpose.Don’t put shells in it, that’s silly. If you want french in-the-shell escargot, you don’t want a dish like this, you want a shallow-divot dish. This is perfect for what it’s made for.

We had this at a restaurant in town and it was so great came home research found these dishes in order two. They are great as a one person plate or an appetizer for 2 to 3 per plate. Of course they were escargot is mainly what was served but mushrooms, scallops or any type of white fish…. Or just get creative with all kinds of things. We had a person in the family who had to have a soft food diet for an extended period so mushrooms and cheese were a great idea! Love you so much we bought them for someone as a birthday gift.

We had a french cuisine night with homemade ratatouille, creme brulee, and shrimp "cargot." These dishes hold about 1/2 of a jumbo shrimp with plenty of room for garlic butter. Slight lip on the edge keeps your havarti cheese in place.
