This is a great little gadget for making mash potatoes without lumps. In the past I've boiled my potatoes and then put them into a large cake mixing bowl to blend them smooth and honestly, sometimes you still end up with some small lumps. This item works like a really large garlic presss and easily pushes the boiled potatoes through the holes to create delicious, unlumpy mashed potatoes. Great gift for the chefs in your family.

Review of Sopito Stainless Steel Potato Masher for Commercial and Home Use:This is a load and squeeze potato masher - like a giant garlic press. It does work well for ricing boiled potatoes, so you don't get lumps. I like that it is stainless steel. It is large and a little heavy, but it needs to be to get the job done. I can't say it is fun to clean, of course, but it did come with a cleaning brush shaped like a toothbrush to help.
