Sadly, this product fails to meet its standards. They advertise stainless steel housing, however, my unit has already begun to RUST. In addition, the spigot is also leaking. All these things occurred within the first 3 months. I've contacted ProOne about these issues, but they have not responded. BEWARE of this company and products!!

We decided to get the ProOne water filter system because of the specifications. We have well water with a really high iron count causing the water to be brown and smelly. This filtration was actually better rated than the Berkey so we went for this brand. I love that it is made in my home state of Michigan, too! Looks great on the counter and easy to use! The spout is strong and durable.It took a while for the first round to filter and we were almost going to send it back. I'm glad we stuck it out. It works quicker and we always have healthy, delicious water available!

I was looking for a cheaper alternative to the Berkey and this one works great. Very easy to set up. I had to filter the water through several times before I could tell a difference in the taste. But now that I've had it for a little over a week, the water tastes fantastic. I got the smaller traveler because it's just myself and my son and was concerned about the amount of water I would need and this seems to be perfect for a family of two.

My water doesn't taste great out of the tap and I'm not sure what impurities it has, so I've always used a filter. I love the simplicity of the gravity feed system nothing to replace except the filter when needed. It was easily put assemble even without the missing spigot wrench (this and a small dent on the storage container bottom edge are the reason for one less star). Water tastes good and it's easy to fill and the spigot doesn't leak.If needed I can take this with camping, or a picnic or an emergency situation and have good clean water. Nothing is more important than pure water to drink, I'm glad I bought this filter

It took a while to arrive, but I found no problems in quality (rust, dents etc. supposedly reported by others.)The only mildly shonky bits of construction were the semi-circular wire tabs positioning the lower bucket on the stand. They were slightly bent inward so the bucket was too tight a fit. One screwdriver leverage later and it all fit. The stand overall is moderately robust, but the welding on the bucket tabs (not a critical part of the construction) are something I would describe as “hopeful”.The taste difference between West coast tap water thru a Briita faucet carbon filter was not immediately noticeable, but very, very different when it came to filter coffee. The difference was startling.My water test kits showed the filter doing its job. I recommend y’all get kits to cover the widest range of pollutants as it really helps verify the filters and git some peace of mind.You must thoroughly degrease and scrub the components clean before assembly to get rid of manufacturing lubricants and general factory smeg.Upgrades: I’ve a UV-C led (Oznium - 20 bucks on amzn) wired to a 5Watt solar car battery charger with a 380 + 22 Ohm/12 zenner diode shunt dropper). There us just enough of a gap between upper and lower buckets for the LED (heat shrink insulation wrapped) wires to poke thru into the lower bucket. During the day the water gets a good like destroying blast of UV light to keep it clean. Don’t let the PVC insulated wires dip into the water!WARNING: NEVER look at an operating UV-C light source! It WILL destroy your sight - like arc eye the less cautious (beer holding) welders get.Making fill level pips:After finding the minimum water level in the lower bucket by opening the tap til it runs dry, directly fill it with 1/2 gallon. Record the height of water. Repeat until lower bucket is full. Note: Account for the upper bucket intrusion into lower bucket!Gently brinnel/binnel/dent lower bucket slightly (hardwood, clamp, blunted ground round center punch, blue tape & hammer) at each recored water height. Ya’ll now know how much to put in and avoid overflows without using dipping measuring sticks. Don’t overdo it and punch a hole tho!One other option I’m toying with is a carburetor type float to shut off the filter. Medical grade silicone rubber conical plug to stopper the filter as it rises on a float with hinged plates attached to the filter mounting thread.YMMV with these mods: I claim no responsibility or competency. I find tying shoelaces hard.
