I have several cheap silver metal scales and this one is my favorite. First, I appreciate copper and the various EDC gear made from it and this scale IS copper. Not sure why it is described as stainless steel? At $6, this is a bargain for a copper tool.Unlike my cheap scales, the edges are not dangerously sharp and, in fact, they are smooth and well machined. The rulings appear to be accurate (see photo) and the scale itself is awesome looking.The only lacking feature is a cork backing, which makes it easy to slide on drawings, etc.

This 6-inch rule feels very hefty. The product description says "stainless steel copper", so I thought that it would be copper plated stainless steel. However, it seems that this is made entirely of copper, all the way through. I used a file to file the left edge of the rule to coincide with the "zero" mark, and did not encounter any stainless steel. So, the product description is wrong, at least at the time of me typing this.The left edge of the ruler is in a very bad shape. When I received the ruler, the left edge was not square - one of the corners was filed off. Also, the edge extends about 2 mm beyond the zero mark. I like my 6 inch rules to have the edge as the reference point, exactly at zero.I modified my ruler by filing away the 2mm off the left edge. This was fairly easy to do because copper is quite soft. Maybe this does not matter to you, though, I imagine not everyone needs their ruler to have a zeroed-out left edge.The ruler seems to be very accurate. The marks are stamped into the copper, so they will not rub off.The ruler only has marks on one side. The other side is completely blank. This is a shame - double-sided rulers are so much better. I prefer the ones with imperial scale on one side (both top and bottom edges) and metric scale on the other (both top and bottom).So, overall, I wanted to give this ruler 3 stars, but then I thought that it never promised to be double-sided and to have the left edge aligned with zero, so it would be wrong of me to remove stars for that. The only thing that is objectively wrong with this ruler is that the left edge is not square. My other wishes are just from the "would be nice" category.The price of $8.83 (at the time of me typing this) seems fair for a solid copper ruler.
