Hi, I bought both RT628 and the compact RT19. But they don't seem to be compatible. RT19 is able to transmit and RT628 receives it. But when RT628 transmits, unfortunately RT19 doesn't receive message. Is there a workaround to make them fully compatible and communicate with each other?Otherwise, I like RT19 because they have decent signal and compact.

Bought these for kids to play with and to use out an about at parks, zoo, etc. Went to Grocery store about .8 miles away chatting with kiddo at home. Voice was pretty clear up to .6 miles I was in my car, kid was in a concrete structure lots of other concrete houses and vegetation in the way. Once I got out of my car we were able to get clear reports again at .8 miles. I live in South Florida, so other than suburban sprawl and vegetation, there isn't much in the way of obstruction. Might be able to pull a mile at best (with companding enabled).Pros -1) Cheap, 4 pack for about $52 with coupon (about $13 a piece)- So if your kid loses or or drops it in a pond, no reason to cry.2) Software available on Retevis website (you will need a cheap Baofeng Kenwood style cable for programming, $12).3) CTCSS and DCS code programmable4) Companding feature really works well clearing up Ambient RF noise - you will need to program it to enable5) If you are a licensed ham you can easily program 70cm freqs by changing codeplug file in text editor (freq information is in plain text.)6) USB micro chargeable - no dock required.7) Max range in flat suburban terrain is .8 to 1 mile, perfect for parks, zoos, etc.8) small light weight with a belt clip, even younger kids can easily manipulate the PTT9) Included acoustic tube earpiece is surprisingly clear, actually has a more sensitive mic than the handset.Cons:1) Chassis is cheap plastic, so don't expect ruggedness or weather resistance.2) replacement batteries are $10, lol. You might as well buy a new radio at that price point.3) the mic on the handset is ok, but you need to speak directly into it for clarity at range.Overall great for toys, family outings, and with the included earpiece, would be great for small business venues (restaurants, hospitality, etc). KEEP IN MIND, to get the most out of it you have to get a programming cable and get a little nerdy with the software available for free from Retevis.

Los usamos para foto y video de eventos sociales, y nos ayudó muchísimo a mejorar la comunicación, además de que son livianos y pequeños. Lo malo es que es medio difícil enchufar al fondo correctamente el auricular al radio y fácil de que no quede bien conectado, lo cual hace que se bloquee el canal de todos como si se quedará presionado el PTT de alguien. Además, aún con todo el volumen, no se escucha lo que se dice un en medio de sonido fuerte. Por último, yo quería utilizar el VOX, el cual en sonidos fuertes se activa y se queda activado incluso con la sensibilidad al mínimo.

El producto se compró para utilizarlo dentro del área de maquinaria de una empresa y tiene un excelente radio de comunicación, no presenta interferencias y se escucha claramente.El tamaño es bueno, cabe muy bien en la palma de la mano.La batería dura un aproximado de 40 horas antes de requerir cargarse.El servicio al cliente fue atento y rápido en responder.Recomiendo el producto.

Excelente producto, la pila dura muchísimo, el alcance en Ciudad es de aproximadamente 500 mts, con los auriculares se escucha bajo, recomiendo para lugares sin tanto ruido ambiente, los radios son súper livianos y resistentes

I ordered these because I didn't want to buy those cheap toys for my daughter. We do a lot of hiking during the spring and summer, and sometimes I like to venture away from my wife and daughter to look at different areas. I took two of them to work with me so that I can test the range. Since these are the US models they operate right at about 2 watts while other countries only give you 0.5 watts max. On the jobsite I took these to we had no problems at all with range, or clarity. They are very loud, and clear. My co-worker and I were using them at less than half volume and were very impressed. During the 12 hour shift, and moderate use, at a distance of almost 1 mile using channel 7 (high frequency on our other frs radios) we did not have to worry about the battery dieing. Very good little radios. I will be buying another set of 4 to use with our Men's Ministry campouts. These things are super compact. My daughter is 4 and has absolutely no issues grasping, and utilizing these one handed. I recommend these.

I was going out of town for a trip and there were going to be two vehicles. I wanted a fast way to talk without being on a call 24/7 and decent signal. So enter these walkies. 1st and formost they are amazing build quality and the battery lasted over 7HRS of heavy use we left it in the vehicles overnight and picked up using them for another 4 hours on the road with no issue of signal strength and clearity. It lets out a quick chime "Low Voltage" to let you know the batteries are low a quick 20min charge on the charger while driving and we continued our last leg of the trip with them.Pro: Small/Solid Quality [dropped them 2-3 times at around 5ft by mistake still worked]/Battery life/Simplicity [open the box charged them for a few hrs turned them on and i was going no fancy set upCons: Range [I didnt do a special test but i was in a city and less then 1mile but could be interference]/Price [there are way cheaper ones with a wider range but i didnt want a huge antenna and i needed a smaller size for packing purposes and quality will be sacrificed]5/5 would recommend all day!

These are great. They work with the frs radios we have - you just have to put the sub channel on the right channel! No one tells you this but for ours it was sub channel 21. So we set our frs radios to 5-21 and these to channel 5 and they work together!! The range is ok but far enough to work well for most situations we found ourselves in with younger kids. Light weight- we could clip them to our T-shirt neck while biking or dirt biking to talk. Worked great. Battery life - one charge per week of vacation. I actually have no idea how long they will last as they never went dead. Wow. The clip is good and robust - doesn’t pop off like all those other cheap ones on amazon. Charges with micro usb is super convenient. The ear pieces were cool as well when dirt biking or in public spaces when we wanted to get the kids attention but not anyone else’s.
