Near midnight on April 14, 1912, the ship struck an iceberg. Over the next two hours the ship sank, taking with it over 1,500 people.

Great Titanic model kit. Got this for my son since hes into Titanic stuff right now. This is a model kit that needs to be painted and glued together. The kit is molded in white. Definitely requires some skill to put together and delicate once completed like typical models. Overall, hes happy to have it.

当初から1番艦オリンピックとは別で作り分けできるように設計されたらしく、異なる箇所は別パーツになっています。アカデミーは船体が一体型でしたが、こちらは船体は左右貼りつけ方式で、サイズは一緒ですが、部品割は全く異なります。アカデミーの方は船体が黒、木甲板が木の色と塗りやすく？なっているのに対してレベルの方は白一色ですね。艦底部等を塗るならこの方が塗りやすいかも。船体は外板の貼り付けが表現されており、細かさは同等レベル。ただしアカデミーの方は舷窓の開口が多く夜間の照明仕様には向いているかも。レベルの方は船底部分も外板貼り付け部分の再現がされており、より一層リアルです。出来は良好です。WLにするのには船体形状上、向いていません。張り線等が付属している点は評価できます。初心者にはアカデミー版タイタニックを勧めます。やや作りやすいかと。塗装なしでもある程度見れる外見は素晴らしいです。ただしやはり木甲板色に構造物が成形されている箇所もあるので、気になる方は手を入れた方がいいかと。上級者にはレベル版を推奨します。僅差で細かさで優っている感があります。
