I had a choice of bamboo or beechwood. Because I wanted hardwood, I chose beechwood, but I feel this is lighter than I expected a hardwood to be. I want a bit of weight when rolling out pastry, and this is not quite enough.I will give it a chance, however, as I am aging and finding heavier items to be problematic.I will post my findings here.

Really like the quality and ease of use. I wasn’t sure if I would like this style but I actually like it better than the one with handles.

During the Pandemic, I really began to bake bread, pasta, pizza crust, etc. I got myself a KitchenAid mixer, but I had a hand-me-down rolling pin with handles... in which the handles came off. I am not a expert baker by any means, so I was looking for a "Rolling Pin with No Handles" and found this.To me, this is all I ask for. It's got a good weight to it, ease of use to roll with. Needless to say I keep this rolling pin also out of the drawer, because I am always using to make food that is healthy for me... and cheap. If your into baking you should try this out.

After breaking a couple of the traditional rolling pins, I got frustrated and figured I'd try this one. It works beautifully, and the more you use it, the better it is as it smooths the wood grain. No moving parts, easy to clean, and a good value for me since it's probably the last rolling pin I will buy.
