La relación calidad precio es la adecuada. No venía en su empaque original pero fuera de eso me ha servido mucho.

Lo compre en oferta. El lente es muy bien hecho. Es manual.

La calidad de imagen es bastante buena, superior a opciones más económicas, pero por desgracia el paquete llego abierto y dañado por lo que se tuvo que regresar. Pese a ello es una gran opción para quienes deseen empezar a experimentar en los objetivos gran angulares. No sólo sirve para fotografía astronómica, también es excelente para fotografía panorámica y de arquitectura.

en general el material del que esta hecho es de media calidad, pero bastante bueno, es una gran lente la calidad de imagen y los enfoques que puedes tener son perfectos, pero es un lente manual, es una buena opción para un primer lente

Buen producto, era justo lo que esperaba cubre un gran ángulo de visión, aunque al usarlo en una cámara con sensor APS-C no le he sacado todo el provecho. El material parece bastante resistente. El unico detalle es que es un objetivo manual y la versión para Canon no trae el sensor de enfoque por lo que tiene uno que tener buen ojo para enfocar bien.

Excelente compra en virtud de calidad-precio. Nada mas que si lo compras desde México ten en cuenta el retraso que pueda llegar a tener la entrega

Tenía alguna resistencia al probar este gran angular ya que es manual para el enfoque. Recién en días pasados tuve la oportunidad de probarlo por la noche y los resultados fueron sorprendentes. Para montarla solo necesitas dejar la apertura en f/22 y con los controles de la cámara se ajusta la apertura.El objetivo se siente de buena calidad, el anillo de ajuste es perfecto. Vale la pena probarlo y lotro beneficio, es que solo pagas una fracción de precio del que cuesta uno Nikon. Una compra que definitivamente recomiendo.

Llevo cerca de 8 años tomando fotografías con distintos equipos y lentes, debo decir que recomiendo este lente por las siguientes razones:1. Calidad de imagen. Tuve oportunidad de utilizar un lente Canon 14mm 2.8, y este lente es igual o incluso ligeramente más nítido. Tiene una tendencia a tonos cálidos frente a otros lentes Canon que poseo (40mm, 85mm, etc.), presenta una muy buena nitidez desde f2.8 tanto en el centro como en las esquinas, casi no tiene el efecto de "comas" cuando fotografías estrellas en la noche.2. Precio. Este lente puede encontrarse normalmente por 350 USD, no podría ser una mejor opción precio/calidad considerando que el Canon cuesta 2000USD. Este ofrece un 95% de la calidad de imagen del Canon.3. Construcción. Aunque no es un objetivo Canon L, está bastante bien armado, se siente sólido en la mano y es un poco más pesado y voluminoso que un 85mm 1.8 de Canon. El anillo de enfoque es suave, aunque el de apertura puede sentirse un poquito delicado. Si cuentas con lentes básicos de Canon como 18-55mm o el 50mm 1.8, la construcción de este te parecerá excelente y muy superior a los anteriores. (tiene partes plásticas y de metal)Puntos a considerar:1. Es de enfoque manual. Para fotos 100% nítidas tienes que usar el liveview de la cámara, los visores ópticos de las DSLR son pequeños y no se percibe lo desenfocado. Esto lleva a que el proceso de tomar una fotografía con este lente sea más lento (comparado con los de auto enfoque). Por la distancia focal (14mm) yo no he tenido problemas, para paisajes siempre utilizo el enfoque manual con magnificación en pantalla con independencia del lente, y para las cosas que requieren más velocidad como retratos de gente bailando en bodas, etc. cierro el diafragma a f8, todo lo que esté de un metro en adelante estará enfocado.Problemas del lente:1. Distorsión. Tiene una distorsión en el centro de la imagen que deforma las líneas rectas, es un problema si no editas las fotos o videos. Yo no lo usaría para arquitectura sin editar las fotografías, afortunadamente puedes bajar en internet gratis un plugin para tu editor que corregirá la distorsión.2. No puedes ponerle filtros porque tiene parasol integrado.3. La escala de distancias y enfoque no es precisa.Tiempo de uso: 2 añosCámara: Canon 6D

This is a wonderful lens! I initially bought it for astrophotography; I'm a novice in that area but had read several reviews by more experienced people and decided to give it a try, I couldn't afford the top Canon primes and thought this would be a nice alternative. It most definitely has lived up to my expectations. It's very sharp and my Milky Way shots have exceeded my hopes for them I'm using it on a Canon 7D with APS-C sensor but intend to buy a full-frame camera very soon - probably a 6D - and am looking forward to using the lens on that. I'll just set it to infinity and let it do its thing. There is some star trailing toward the edges but nothing I can't tolerate or crop. Any issues with photo noise are mine and the camera's, not the fault of the lens. The more I use it, the better I like it.I have also experimented with landscape and seascape shots and once again, I'm extremely happy with the results. Given that this is a wide-angle prime, there is some distortion if you photograph at fairly close range. A building will have that characteristic slant at either hand. You can correct this in post-processing but it might mean losing part of the structure through a crop. But for a sweeping view, it's amazing.There's a learning curve when you first start working with primes. I also have a Canon 40 F/2.8 STM mm and 50 mm F/1.8 STM (the "nifty fifty") and started out with those. It takes time to master their use and I'm not there yet! However, they also demand that you become a better photographer. If at first the Rokinon seems difficult or frustrating, just keep pushing yourself.It's a fairly substantial lens in terms of both weight and build. The petal lens hood is permanent. I find it keeps out a lot of extraneous light and cuts back on lens flare so that's fine by me. I stopped noticing it within a few minutes.My only complaint is that Amazon advertises Express Shipping with an expected delivery date that is simply not feasible if an item comes from the USA. I paid extra for Express but might as well not have bothered. I could have had free shipping and probably gotten it just as quickly. Live and learn. But this isn't the fault of the lens!Highly recommended, especially if your budget doesn't allow for the big-ticket Canon gear.

One of my favorite Nikon lenses is an old 16mm fisheye from about 1977, I think. It has two problems: it is a fisheye and curves straight lines at the edges and it's a non-CPU lens, like many of my aged old Nikon lenses. Non-CPU means I have to remember to select it from my list of non-CPU lenses using that menu feature of the D800, and that there is no focus assist. It's full frame, however, and now that we're back to shooting full FX 24x36 sensor, the old lenses are making a comeback.That 16mm fisheye costs a pretty penny today and the 14-24mm Nikon f/2.8 zoom is even more. And I'm sure they are both fine lenses.So I bought a Samyang/Rokinon 800mm f/8 mirror lens for two bills and said, "that ought to be fun, even if it's not that great a lens for such little money." Funny thing: it's a pretty good lens.That good purchase experience allowed me to select this 14mm Rokinon f/2.8. It is surprisingly good considering it's one third the cost of its Nikon equivalent. Even wide open at 1.5 feet, it is tack sharp.The main difference between this and the Nikon is that this Rokinon is a fully manual focus lens while the 14mm Nikon is auto focus, although I'm not sure how accurately a 14mm lens can focus automatically. I've often simply estimated the distance and set the lens to that distance using the barrel markings. The focus ring is a pleasant long throw, with the ring rotating about 270 degrees around the lens from infinity to .28 meters (less than 1 foot). Focus drag feels silky smooth. Focus happens internally -- the front element does not rotate.This Rokinon has a clickstop f/stop diaphragm. It also has a chip in it, giving it enough smarts to qualify as an AI-S lens. To use it on a D800, you have to set it to minimum aperture (f/22) or you get the flashing "fee" in the viewfinder. Ah, takes me back....Setting it to f/22 (marked in orange) tells the camera what f/stop the lens is working at and allows control of the f/stop from the front selector wheel on the D800. The focus indicator in the eyepiece also works -- you see the left/right arrows and the little ball that verifies it's in focus. It also automatically records f/stop and focal length data in the metadata with the shot. In other words, it's a real lens, just without auto focus, for one third the cost. Old Nikon AI-S lenses have a little lock that holds the f/stop ring at minimum aperture that's not present on this lens, but the click stops are secure and the f/stop ring stays where you set it.The front element is radically curved and is protected somewhat by the flower petal shaped built-in lens shade. Be careful: that front element is really exposed to the weather.The front lens cap is terrific and very well designed. It's a durable hard plastic unit that slips over the flower petal lens shade and snaps securely in place against detents in the the lens shade. You have to squeeze both plastic flush-mount buttons on the front edge of the cap to release it. It won't fall off by accident under any circumstances. Only drawback it that it's about 1-3/8" deep and 3-5/8" diameter, so it doesn't exactly slip into a back pocket when it's off the lens.The cosmetics of the lens are appealing. Even has a brass/gold colored band around the front that mimics real Nikon lenses. The focus ring rubber grip is good and the the body of the lens, minus the front element, is about the size of a 50mm f/1.4 lens. Focus distances in feet and meters are clearly engraved. One nice thing it has that I wish all lenses had is the focal length clearly and largely printed on the side of the lens so you can tell at a glance what it is. Nice. The mount is precision machined and fits the camera like it should. There are five little electrical contacts that interface with the camera body to communicate exposure info. For transport, it comes with an unpadded velour drawstring pouch. May want something a bit more padded if it's bouncing around inside a camera bag against other gear. But the bag's adequate, folds flat when not in use and is compact.As for performance, I'm not going to go into lines/per millimeter sharpness. What I can say is that it's great for architectural interiors and wide, WIDE rectilinear shots. And in analyzing a snap of my dog I pushed in on his eye as far as I could looking at the D800's rear screen and could see the finest of eyelashes, showing off both the resolution of the lens and the remarkable resolution of the D800's 36 megapixel sensor. The lens distinguishes itself from all the wide/medium wide 24mm/35mm lenses out there. Do I really need to have a heavy, giant, hyper-expensive zoom lens that zooms 10 whole millimeters from 14mm all the way to 24mm? Not hardly. If I need serious wide angle this 14mm will fill the bill nicely, even wide open.No filters for it, of course, because the front element is so deeply curved.I'm particularly interested in using the 14mm for video shoots, which I use the D800 for more than for still photography. I'll be able to see the whole world with this lens, even in the most cramped of situations.This will be a fun lens. Highly recommended.
