This film has a sensitivity up to 820 nm and and ISO of 400 without filtering. Perfect exposures can be reached, using special infrared filters, leading into results with an unusual tonal range. Special AURA effects can be obtained by overexposing film. It has high constrast, very fine grain and excellent sharpness and is especially suited for scanning.

I love this film. If you shoot it without a filter, it will act like a standard 400 ISO black and white film, but adding an R72 will block the visible spectrum and only allow the near infrared spectrum through. It's impossible to know how much infrared is out there, so I tripod mount and bracket exposures from 1/15 second to 1/2. The infrared wavelength is longer than the visible spectrum, so to insure sharp focus, I use either a 28 or 35mm lens at f-11. If you have older lenses, there should be a red line for infrared focus. I process at home. Pre-soak in running water for few minutes and process in Rodinol, 1/50 dilution, 12 minutes at 68° F. Of course, your mileage may vary!

Even if you forget your Infrared filter like I did (smh), you still get beautiful black and white photographs. Highly recommend the Urth Infrared Filter if you want to do it properly.

一度はやってみたかったので、大満足です。普通に撮るとISO400の白黒フィルムになるので、赤外写真を撮るためにIR760の赤外フィルターも購入しました。このフィルターはほぼ真っ暗なので一眼レフのファインダーも真っ暗です。構図を決定してからフィルターを取り付けることになります。感度がISO400とありますが、赤外写真を撮る場合は適正露出+7~10段のプラス補正による段階露出をしないと思ったように写りません。真夏の昼間なのに三脚とレリーズは必須です。昔のカメラ雑誌では赤外フィルムを使用した作品がよく掲載されていたものですが、最近は殆ど見ませんね。来年の夏もぜひトライしたいのでこれからも販売をお願いします。

This is a great infrared film, and personally I prefer it to the Efke. It produces stunning black and white infrared images, and is actually quite forgiving when it comes to exposure.You can use this with a deep red filter to take great images, or an infrared filter to give a more pronounced infrared effect.It's just a shame that traditional photography is becoming such an expensive hobby!
