I have always used Rowena irons and love them! Do not buy from Walmart, the cheaper model picked up fuzz on the sole plate every piece of clothing you iron!! My old Rowena I have had over 15 years and have never had to clean the plate!! So I bought the 1850W that made in France, the cheaper Walmart one is made in China, and it is a great iron I am sure but the weight is slightly over 4 pounds. I would have loved it when I was younger but now with arthritis in my hands and joints it is too heavy. So, I need a lighter weight iron but with a sole plate that doesn’t require cleaning every time I iron one piece of even cotton clothing. Appreciate any help with this. I did not try ironing with it because I knew it was just too big and heavy.

I bought my first Rowenta 12 years ago and NEVER went back to the other products. This iron is durable, no water leakage and my clothes look like I sent them to the cleaners. The only think I don't like are that the settings are sensitive to touch. Though I set it for cotton, sometimes my hand will accidentally touch it and it will shift to wool, so you will need to monitor the settings. I only use distilled water in my irons which make them last without leaking. Great product.

Very pleased with this purchase. Performance of this product is very good. The water capacity is good. It holds good heat and can be adjusted according to various fabrics. The iron has weight and pressed the garments very well.

I love this iron. It is a bit heavy.....but that provides the weight needed... so I do not have to push down hard. The water filler area is easy to see with a clear window. The settings are easy to adjust and the steam automatically adjusts as well. This is the second Rowenta iron I have purchased, and I am very happy with the quality and ease of use.

I wear linen, almost exclusively. That means I put a lot of mileage into my steam irons. This iron has transformed my life - I can get rid of those awful sleeve wrinkles that run down the entire arm in ten seconds flat. The weight of the plate facilitates rapid wrinkle removal without messing up the alternate side. I swear that I'm ironing twice as fast and twice as completely. If I were in the professional ironing circuit, this would be my sidearm. Also, it's not made in China (produit de france / entworfen in Deutschland). That's worth the 7X premium over a cheap Phillips or Black and Decker just by itself.
