I bought this hat to wear with my 1920’s suit, I regularly wear it and so far it has been great. Excellent hat for the price, it seems to be well built and should last a few good years with proper care, the brim is just a little bit floppy (not an issue if you only plan on using it for a costume), so I’d recommend starching it with spray starch to stiffen it up a bit. I replaced the band because I felt that the original one was a bit to “costume-y” the original band was just hot glued on so it was easy to remove. All in all I’d recommend this hat to anyone who is looking for a good boater at a reasonable price.

Pretty well made, though care should be taken when handling it, such as removing it from one's head. The brim is not all that strong. Another reviewer goes into depth about the hat's weaknesses and compares it to two other brands of the same type hat. This is the medium brand and no where near as costly as the top choice brand. As for style, it is what I had hoped for. I bought this hat for a goof as I plan to wear it to parties as my, "election year hat." I plan to vote for Coolidge. It is a good product for the money; just don't treat it too roughly, as I have previously stated.

In an age where something called the "bucket cap' or the ubiquitous baseball cap is considered to be the epitome of sartorial elegance for men, the fact that a hat like this one is available is a blessing. Factor in the very reasonable cost and unexpectedly high degree of craftsmanship, and you have a winner.This hat arrived before the promised date and was securely packaged. The fit was as advertised and I immediately appreciated the substance of this hat. It's sturdy enough to hold it's shape, the construction promises to provide a degree of durability and longevity, and it's still 'breaths'.I've worn the hat a couple of days now and I was thrilled to see the reaction. I have worked to bring the bow tie back and suspenders. I am a teacher and I believe that dressing well and elegantly is a life lesson that a teacher can impart without having to write a lesson plan or some such. I certainly believe that students do react to me differently than they do a casually dressed teacher - if I am taking the trouble to dress well to come and teach them, I must feel that this is important. And I do.This hat is 'icing on the cake' if you will. I enjoy wearing it, it complements my spring and summer attire, and I am able to show my young men that there are alternatives to the 'bucket' hat.I look forward to spending a lot of time with this truly fine hat. Well worth the price.
