I bought used/Amazon Returned. This is a great lock that also integrates with my Homey Smart Home. This is my second Schlage Connect Door lock. I would highly recommend. As far as used/returned - great price. Amazon did miss including the Schlage 4x AA battery caddy but one contact with Schlage support and it was on it's way. The install can take a little finesse in order to get the deadbolt alignment just right.

The Schlage Connect Smart Lock is a complete disappointment. The cast zinc housing has visible porosity, surface defects, and rough edges—proof that Schlage is cutting corners on build quality. For a device meant to secure my home, it’s inexcusable for it to feel this cheap and poorly made.I purchased this lock based on glowing reviews, but it’s clear Schlage’s money went into aggressive sponsorships and marketing instead of product quality. They’d be better off investing in their engineering and manufacturing. While the programming interface is straightforward, the lock itself is a disaster. It took several tries for the configuration to stick, and even then, some features never worked. The alarm sensitivity was ridiculously high, even on the lowest setting, and the button-lock function failed completely. The app? Useless—no debugging, just a flashing red light to remind me this thing was a waste of time and money. This experience has permanently soured me on Schlage. I’ve already replaced it with a competitor’s product that’s leagues better. Schlage will get nothing but adamant negative feedback from me to anyone considering their smart locks. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

Lock and leave set by default according to instructions. DOES NOT WORK AS ADVERTISED. Reset does not work. As from this lock works well and is easy to install.

Si lo que buscas son funcionalidades, de códigos de acceso para invitados, notificaciones, ESTA NO ES UNA OPCION, no tiene esa función. OJO no todas son iguales. Las terminaciones ZP en su modelo, no tienen estas funciones.

We've had this lock installed for 1 1/2 years. It is generally locked or unlocked electronically about at least 10 times per day. (Household of 7)-Connectivity - Our Smart Things hub is about 10 feet away and we've had only 1 issue. We lost connection once which required me to pull the battery out of the lock and then everything reset itself okay. The lock will continue to work and can use existing codes without connectivity. Using the Smart Thing app allows you to easily program the lock and share codes for guests. You can also lock and unlock using the app and can lock (not unlock) using Alexa. I get an alert from Smart Things every time somebody unlocks with a code which is handy as I know who and when one of my kids returned home.- Battery life - 6+months if your lock is aligned smoothly and rotates well. We are on our 3rd set of batteries, The 1st set went for 6 months to a year. Long enough I didn't worry about it. Our 2nd set died very quick, under a couple months since there was a period the deadbolt did not turn smoothly. You MUST make sure the lock turns smoothly, any hang up or resistance greatly affects battery life. After addressing that issue the lock works much better. However, I have had to adjust its alignment a couple times as we enter winter (and temps affect alignment) to ensure smooth operation.- Installation - I had 1980 metal door with a smaller diameter hole for the deadbolt, so I purchased a lock hole kit from the local hardware store to enlarge the opening. That part was trickier, the rest of the installation and connecting to Smart Thing hub was pretty straightforward. As mentioned earlier, good alignment of the bolt and smooth operation is important. Here's why I think a manually activated keyless deadbolt might be better:-Prior to this lock we had a Schlage BE365CAM619 (still have it, just on garage door). What is really nice about the manual turn electronic locks compared to the electronically turned locks is the following:1. Faster operation - enter code, flip bolt push door, no delay at all. The electronically turned deadbolts require about 1 second to unlock the bolt. Not a huge deal, but sometimes annoying. Especially if the door was already unlocked, then you enter the code and the you just locked it. This never happens on the manual activated one because you would enter code and flip the latch. Even if it was already unlocked you didn't just lock it.2. Battery life much better on manually activated keyless lock.3. Electronically activated deadbolts could jam and really reduce battery life or become unusable until fixed - On occasion some kid will enter code then push the door right away without completely waiting for the bolt to retract, that could misalign the bolt and reduce battery life significantly, Sometimes they enter the code, but it was already unlocked so they just locked it and then shove the door also misaligning the bolt. On a rare occasion, 3x in 1 1/2 years they push it hard enough that it jams the mechanism and you must enter the house a different way and realign it.The obvious downside to the manually activated ones is that you can't lock your door from anywhere with a internet connection. On a real practical note, this means if your in bed and your wife asks if the doors are locked, you have to get out of bed and check... Now I can pull out the phone and just check.

UPDATE: My original batteries finally died!!! This lock is used at least 6 times a day, everyday, often used more than that, & has been unquestionably worth every penny! The original 4-AA batteries died after 20 months of constant use, almost 2 years!!!!! I have been SO impressed I had to update this review. This lock is amazing, I swapped my original lock set into this lock (was also Schlage, biggest reason I picked this) so I could use my original keys still, and it feels like it will last a lifetime. The display is very easy to see, even in direct sunlight, the touch pad works very well & it looks great on my door.Connection & control has been effortless, & I have not had a single connection issue between the SmartThings hub or activation through Alexa (still, after almost 2yrs). Alexa cannot unlock the lock, so no worries about someone asking her to unlock from outside, and Alexa can’t activate “routines” that involve locking or unlocking the door, but will promptly lock the door when asked to & will tell you the status of the lock when asked if the door is locked. My hub is in the basement of my house & has no trouble connecting to this lock at the front of my house (main entry, 35ft away through 4 walls & a floor). The only downside to the lock is SmartThings can only control the locking/Unlocking and monitor battery life, Schlage’s dedicated app is required for all other features they offer, & code programming has to be done at the door, but I wasn’t interested in those features anyway & access code programming is very simple. Would I recommend this lock? Absolutely hands down!!
