I purchased this dummy door knob for my front door. It arrived quickly and came with asimple paper template for drilling the screw holes and installation instructions. It was simple to install and I think it looks good and feels good quality.

You are not able to remove the handle to screw on the decorative plate. Makes it difficult to install the dummy handle and plate.

Purchased this door knob for cupboards as part of a matching design to bedroom door handles by the same manufacturer. We are facing a major hurdle in installing the door knob due to the positioning of the screws that are too close to the centre of the plate making them inaccessible by a standard set of tools i.e drill or screwdriver. I called up Schlage customer support and they told me that the knob could not be detached from the base plate and to get a special tool attachment to permit drilling at a 90 degree angle. Even after purchasing this attachment (which not easily available), it does not address the problem as the gap between the plate and the knob is too small (approx 1/4"). The only option to install it is to drill through the cupboard door and install it with a 2.5 in screw and bolt on the inside of the cupboard door (visually unattractive on the inside). Again it's a hassle to find the right size screw and bolt that fits into the plate design.Unfortunately I am committed to this product due to the matching design with the bedroom door handles or would have returned the 10 sets ordered.
