There's nothing i didn't like. Simply added the whole spool to the existing steel cable and re-terminated the end clip. Worked perfect! No more steel cable whine.

I like braided line for downriggers much better than the wire line because it is quiet in the water, strong, and doesn't rust over time. This downrigger line is a little more expensive than other wire line and even some braided lines out there but it will last you a long time. I have never had a problem with it breaking. It even comes with the rubber bumper and stainless steel loop so that you can easily clip on your downrigger weight. I believe since it is not a metal line you could use it in fresh and saltwater or switch between the two. I only use it in freshwater. Make sure to apply tension as you spool the line on to your downrigger. I had issues with this and had to restart a couple times to make sure the line was on the spool tight and not loose anywhere since it could wrap around and cause a mess. If you've ever spooled on braided fishing line to a fishing reel then treat it similar to that. After experiencing braided downrigger line I am never going back to metal line.

Using braid line and braid downrigger line.Already saved a salmon that wrapped the line but it didn't cut like steel cable.

All of Scotty’s products are great and this braid is no exception. 300 feet of quality braid. So happy to get that stock metal line off my downrigger. Went on easy. I left three feet of metal line. Tied on the braid and applied resistance while it spooled on. Has worked flawlessly. Not sure why Scotty downriggers come with that crappy metal line in the first place. :)
