This lock is quite substantial and sturdy, yet it works perfectly with my e-bike. The construction is top quality, and the keys operate smoothly and feel durable. I pair it with the chain lock from the same brand whenever I need to leave my bike in public for a long time.

This U Lock has a Sold Secure Diamond rating, which offers the highest security in bike lock. This lock is large and heavy, but fits my e-bike perfectly. The build quality is excellent, and the keys are good quality and smooth to use. I am using it with the chain lock of the same brand when I leave the bike in public space for an extensive period of time. It is priced at £80 at the time of review, and cheaper with a 10% voucher, which I think is reasonable considering its top-notch security and build quality.

I definitely recommend this lock. It's sturdy and appears to be well made.

This is a giant U-lock and a hefty one at 2kg. The sheer size of it (with inside dimensions of 117x 302mm) makes locking up a bike easier with more options to go around purpose-built bike stands or random street furniture. From the security and deterrent point of view this looks about as good as U-locks get. Whether and why a pentagonal cross section is stronger than a round, hex or square is beyond me, but its solid rather than hollow and that’s got to be good. Covered in shiny plastic (hoop) and silicone rubber (lock) the whole unit is safe around paint finishes. Finally, though possibly first in consideration, this lock has the UK’s independent Sold Secure Diamond rating which is the highest rating available for bike locks, and that’s what may matter most. The negatives, which are secondary considerations really if you need the security, are-1. The lock comes without a frame mount to carry it -though one is separately for sale from SeatyLock for ~£15. Because of point 2 below I’d probably carry this in a backpack or pannier for preference anyway.2. It rattles. Even when locked the shackle rattles in the lock which calls into question the manufacturing tolerances, though brute force material strength probably renders them mechanically acceptable. This noise is irritating if you carry it on your frame on a quality bicycle.3. The keyhole slot is in a soft plastic rather than metal which doesn’t guarantee longevity in daily use. There may be a metal closure under it, but why not present a metal wear face?4. While Diamond rated, the lock isn’t conspicuously branded and I think more could be made of the deterrent effect by having a Sold Secure stickers included or even prominent Seatylock branding (like the Viking chain locks).Niggles apart, I’d highly recommend this if you are in the market for a large U-lock as they don’t come with any higher security rating. Just don’t overbuy on size if you don’t want the weight.
