hd599 tier comfort and hd560 tier sound but even better. Clamp is less than 560s (one of my only complaints, really), these are probably my new favorite Sennheisers. Bass is clear, punchy, and not boomy. Midrange is fantastic, along with highs which aren't too sibilant, no EQ needed. Highly recommend if you like music or games or good audio in general. Listening to tracks on Spotify right now and everything just sounds good. Great job, Sennheiser engineers.

Basically a mini HD600. The headband is kinda meh, that's my only complaint. They are lighter than the 560s too and have very relaxed clamp force.I'd recommend this out of any of the 500 series if you're gaming, however the HD550 is about to release, that may be a tad better. Do your research!

There are absolutely amazing!!! Went through 4 different pairs to find perfect one to use for online meetings, and this is by far it!- Open back - you actually hear yourself speak to the point where it doesn't sound weird like the closed ones- quality of sound is amazing- super light and comfortable!!!- velvet cups! (nice touch)Overall, completely happy with my purchase! this along with external mic (which was also a huge plus so that i didn't have to make sure to switch every other time) was a win in every way

over price for what its worth. i would never want to buy another sennheiser anymore. they come with cheap box now, absolutely cheap out and price kept increasing yet the sound quality remains the same with slight tiny tune. this headphone absolutely have no difference with 560s. not sure why they spend their time making this unit. what a waste of resource. if you own 560s don't bother buying this. with that small tuning difference, just eq your headphone. don't fall into this kind of nonsense.

Love them so far, paired with Ifi Zen Dac 3. I own the HD 58x and these 505s are just so much more comfortable for longer gaming sessions. 505s for gaming are more detailed and better soundstage than the 58x and the 560s. Not as bright as 560s either. The bass boost on my dac give these the punch it needs. Is it worth the upgrade from 560s? I would say no if you can handle the 560s treble. If not, then the 505s are worth it to me for gaming.
