I got this set to replace the Gibson Burstbucker 2&3 set that came in my Epiphone Les Paul. I got the right compressed crunch and kept clarity. Never gonna regret that upgrade!

I have owned many les Paul guitars, and am not a lover of the '57 and '57+ pickups fitted in many of them. I decided to try the Seymour Duncan "whole lotta humbuckers" in a really nice 2013 traditional. I fitted these very easily and can only say that they sound AMAZING!! full of tone and the bridge pickup really gives the guitar that "snarl" while both are very articulate and transparent in sound. A few weeks later, I picked up another set second hand ( I definately would have bought anothe new pair had I not got the s/h pair) and I fitted them in a 2002 Les Paul standard. again, the sound is fabulous, and I've had many complimentary comments about the sound and tone I now have. Seymour Duncan has been making the most highly regarded pickups for decades, and I can absolutely confirm how good they are.

I am not an expert on reviewing pickups. I'm sure there are better reviews that go into great detail about how every aspect of these sound. Personally I find those reviews to be too complicated and only make you doubt your consideration. I know what sounds good and what doesn't. Secondly, your gear will have an effect on what I hear compared to what you'll hear. Your pedals, your amp, even your strings have an effect on your on your tone so take everything you read with a grain of salt. For reference, I got these installed in my Tokai Les Paul copy and ran it through a variety of Fender Pedals (Pugilist Distortion, Full Moon Distortion, and Santa Ana Overdrive) which ran through my Fender Champ 40 amp.CLEAN TONES: I think overall these sound pleasantly warm, well balanced, and have nice note separation and clarity when strummed. You'd be hard-pressed to find a set of Seymour Duncans that don't sound good on the clean channel.DIRTY TONES: Remember, this is HIGHLY dependent on your pedal, your amp, and how you EQ the two. Like the cleans, I find these pickups to be warm on the dirty channel. The highs can sometimes use a boost when using high gain, as sometimes they can get a little overpowered by the lows.OVERALL: These were a worthy upgrade. In summery, they are warm, balanced, and have wonderful note separation and clarity that play phenomenally on either clean or dirty channel. You won't be disappointed in these. Again, it's really hard to find a set of SD pickups that don't sound good.
