I have been using another brand of smart plug for around a decade now, but they don't do one designed for outdoors use, and since I've been very happy with all my other YoLink devices, I thought I should try this out. First up, like every YoLink product it feels solid and well built. I paired it in seconds, and plugged it in, and was up and running straight away. You can remotely control it from your phone, turn it on or off manually, or set schedules, or use a countdown timer as well. The scheduling is really cool because once you program the schedule from the phone, the schedule is stored on the actual smart plug. That means even if there's no internet connection, your schedules will continue to run. That's really nice for peace of mind. Secondly, the chances of this losing internet are pretty low. Unlike my other smart plugs that are hit or miss picking up a WiFi signal, this YoLink smart plug uses LoRa like all their other devices. That means great range, far exceeding that of WiFi. Unless you live in a Beverly Hills sized mansion your YoLink devices will have a strong signal and work reliably. But it's not just a smart outlet, it's an energy monitor too! I have a whole home energy monitoring solution from another company and they sell smart plugs, but theirs can't cope with more than 10A continuous use. The YoLink one supports 15A continuous current, which basically means that anything that can plug in, will work fine. You can also set up "if this, then that" type routines. For example if you wanted to turn on something to scare off an attempted break in, you could do that. I have YoLink vibration sensors on some of my doors and windows so if those detect vibration I could then turn on outside lights. With YoLink's other products there's a million different permutations of smart home routines you could set up. Turn on a heater when the temperature drops? No problem. One of the reasons I like YoLink products is how well designed they are. One example of that is the plug that goes into the outlet is really compact. That's great because bulky plugs often don't fit in outdoor weather proof boxes, or in multi-outlets with lots of plugs next to it.Overall, I think for everything this can do, it's well worth the money.Yes, you will need a YoLink hub, but once you have one of those you can add as many YoLink devices as you like. If you haven't already got their water leak sensors those should be your next purchase, to protect your home from the risk of expensive water damage.

This sensor, that can work by itself or also works along with the YoLink suite of sensors is unique in that it uses a cloth like braided material surrounding a long sensor element that when the second it gets wet sounds an audible alarm and if you have it configured with their app it will send you text and / or email alerts every 5 minutes or so. You can place it around the bottom of a water heater or sink cabinet or A/C pan to cover a larger area so a leak can be detected as early as possible. If you need to cover a larger area you can link more sensor cables together, although I have not tried this or have not seen where you buy extra lengths of sensor cable.Of course, I did test the sensor and it reacts to even a drop of water and once the sensor cable gets wet is will alarm for quite a while even if you have tried to dry it with a towel. So I thought since this was just a test that I would just unplug the sensor cable and wait for it to dry out,,,, at which point, it started sending me texts every five minutes that the sensor cable was unplugged. Now while annoying, I thought that was pretty genius on the designers part since you would really like to know if the sensor had become unplugged (Think, for example, if you had moved some items underneath a sink and it pulled it out), well the sensor would no longer be viable but you wouldn't know until the water was running across the floor. Not with this little device as it will send you a notification.I have only had the system in place for two months (they also have other sensors available) and the battery levels are all still indicating full so I have not seen how well that feature works as it is supposed to track the battery level of the sensors. ( not sure if it sends an alert about low battery level)All in all, this is a slick set of sensors and while the app is a little bit clunky to get everything named and organized, once it is setup it is transparent. I hope this company can stay around to help support their product and possibly add other sensors to their repertoire.

UN peu couteux mais très pratique pour controler un éclairage extérieur sans souci avec un cellulaire intelligent.

I've been a little paranoid about my sump pump recently. I have three pumps in my sump well, a primary pump with its built-in vertical float sensor, a secondary backup pump with a vertical float sensor positioned so that it will not activate unless the primary pump stops working, and a 12-volt pump that runs off a 100 amp-hour AGM battery kept charged using a battery tender. This 12-volt sump pump is my pump of last resort in case of a power outage, and its float will not activate unless the sump water level gets above both the primary and secondary pumps. With this setup, it's not easy to tell when my primary sump pump stops working. This YoLInk Water Leak Sensor 3 solves this problem. The sensor comes with a water sensor probe, which I did not use. For sump wells, they suggest that you use a float switch instead of the included probe since the probe terminals could become covered with mineral deposits and reduce their water detection sensitivity. I ordered the 'Level Sense 15 Feet Water Level Float Switch with Mounting Bracket' from Amazon and it works perfectly for this sump well application. I just had to wire in a standard 3.5mm male plug to the end of the float switch wires to be able to plug into the YoLInk Water Leak Sensor. The YoLink Water Leak Sensor requires the use of an inexpensive central hub (I bought the YoLInk SpeakerHub). It communicates with the hub by use of a long-range radio that has up to a 1/4 mile range and uses very little power. The two standard AA batteries in the Water Leak Sensor should last for one to two years. Setup was quick and easy. You just install the YoLink App onto your cell phone, plug in the hub anywhere in your house, and connect it to your home WiFi. Then you can easily add the Water Leak Sensor to your system by scanning the QR code on the sensor. The YoLink ecosystem has many different types of sensors, alarm speakers, switches, etc. for constructing very elaborate home automation systems. This Water Leak Sensor is a good introduction to this ecosystem, and I'll certainly be considering other home automation options.I attached the small Water Level Float Switch in my sump well so that it would not activate unless the sump water level rose above the normal maximum level permitted by my primary sump pump (but below the level where my secondary sump pump would activate). Now, if my primary sump pump stops working, I receive both an email alert as well as an app notification on my cell phone letting me know that the primary sump pump has stopped working. You can also set up the app to text you an alert, which I have not yet done since you are limited to 25 free SMS texts per month. Since the YoLInk system is compatible with Alexa, I also have all my Alexa devices announce that my primary sump pump has stopped working (easily done with an Alexa routine). In addition, I have set up my YoLInk system to notify me when the float switch opens back up, since this tells me that my secondary pump has run successfully, giving me peace of mind. The YoLInk Water Level Sensor is an elegant method by which to monitor my sump pumps. Now, no matter where I am, I'll know if my primary pump has failed and needs attention as well as whether my secondary backup pump has successfully run. I'm also impressed with the entire YoLInk ecosystem.

The reason I decided to try YoLink and their devices .1) The price of the hub is very reasonable, unlike other smart hubs I have been looking at.2) All the different smart devices that Yolink has.3) Long range. These smart devices can be way away from the hub and still work without any issues.4) The ease of setup, the hub and devices are extremally easy to setup.Open the app, scan the bar code on the side of the device and it is connect within seconds to the hub. Then a few seconds later I get notification that Alexa has found new smart device, without needing to open the Alexa app and scan for new devices. This is great, so easy and simple to setup.5) YoLink has many different smart devices that will work with Alexa and my other smart devices.6) Everywhere I searched, included youtube, YoLink received very high rating. The reason I decided to try (and love) these YoLink door sensors.I wanted some sensor on/in my workshop which is over 150 feet away from my home. I could not find any sensors or smart devices that would work at that distance from my house. The wifi reaches out that far and past, just most smart devices just could not send a signal back that far. I tried adding a wifi repeater. This caused connection issues with wifi enabled smart devices. So I decided to to try Yolink's Door & Window sensors. These Yolink smart devices cover the distance with ease. I have now installed some on my barn, which is even further away from my house. Still no issues. So, Yes, I highly recommend the Yolink Door & Window sensors, hub and their other devices for the reasons stated above.
