I have a ton of Makita batteries and a single Skil 20V tool - this did allow me to use 3, 6 or 8AH Makita batteries with that tool with no appreciable reduction in power that I could tell. Kind of an apples and orange comparison to say it would last the same amount of time, because I don't have a similar tool that works natively with Makita batteries to test against. Can't do charging on a Skil charger, as is stated in the product description, but that's not really an issue for me. Skil batteries seem a lot harder to come by than Makita ones, so this is a decent solution if you need a little more flexibility with your Skil tools (as long as they aren't Pwr Core 12V ones). Worked fine, but no particular standout features - came in a plain brown box with a tiny instruction manual (2 pages, if I recall) that reiterated the warnings in the product description. Molded ABS plastic and some wiring. Probably will hold up quite a while, long as the connections are good. Price is about what I'd expect for this kind of thing.

Although I have a number of Skil power tools myself, AKA "the other red tool brand", not everyone wants to vest themselves into yet another battery platform. This is where battery adapters come into play -- to allow one to use power tools from one brand and power tool batteries from another. In this instance, it allows the use of Makita, Makita-compatible, or Makita-style batteries on Skil PwrCore 20V or Amazon's Denali (by Skil) 20V power tools.Installation is just the same as any typical battery -- just slide it on the tool, then slide on the battery. This had no problems working with the Makita-style batteries that a number of cat-sat-on-a-keyboard brands use. It is not intended to be used for charging, however.Barring any durability issues, 5 stars. I don't foresee any, however, as this is NOT a 3D-printed adapter; both halves are fully molded to their respective shapes.
