This lens is good, sharpness are good, and best for photo and video

Great lens for bokeh photography that includes a lot of the background. It can be used for landscapes as well, but you should be aware that you need to be halfway to your subject to get the same view as your own. The advantage is that there is more angle of view above the tree branches and below. Software profiles reduce the extremes of the distortion. There is high vignetting throughout the apertures, but that can be reduced with good software or left alone to be a frame for the photo. Flare resistance is good and the bokeh at F1.8 is beautiful.

Als ich das Objektiv im Angebot für 700€ gesehen habe, habe ich direkt zugeschlagen. Hier einmal meine Erkentnisse mit dem Objektiv und ein Vergleich zum Sony 24mm 1.4 am Ende :)**Bauqualität und Handhabung:**Die Sony FE 20mm f/1.8 G ist aus hochwertigem Kunststoff gefertigt und verfügt über einen Metall-Bajonettanschluss. Die Linse hat verschiedene Schalter, darunter einen AF-MF-Schalter und eine individuell belegbare Funktionstaste. Die Konstruktion ist staub- und feuchtigkeitsbeständig, ideal für Reise- und Landschaftsfotografie. Die Funktionstaste ist frei belegbar und meiner Meinung nach sehr nützlich.**Fokussierleistung:**Der Autofokus der Sony FE 20mm f/1.8 G ist schnell und geräuschlos. Die Genauigkeit ist auch bei schlechten Lichtverhältnissen aufgrund der f/1.8 Blendenöffnung beeindruckend. Die Nahfokussierfähigkeiten sind gut. Kleiner Minuspunkt ist das "Focus-breathing". Mittlerweile gibt es da in den neueren Sony Kameras eine Kompensation.**Verzerrung:**Die Verzerrung der Linse ist gering würde ich sagen. Wenn nötig, kann mit Adobe Lightroom ein Profil zur Entzerrung verwendet werden.**Vignettierung:**Die Linse zeigt moderat hohe Vignettierung, insbesondere bei offener Blende, bleibt aber selbst bei geschlossener Blende sichtbar. Bei F/2.8-F/4 ist diese am geringsten. Bei dieser Brennweite auch mehr oder weniger normal bei Objektiven.**Chromatische Aberration:**Chromatische Aberration ist kaum sichtbar. Bis jetzt konnte ich kaum welche feststellen.**Schärfe:**Hierbei war ich echt erstaunt wie hoch die Schärfe ist! Die Schärfe in der Bildmitte bei f/1.8 ist erstaunlich hoch und übertrifft viele vergleichbare Linsen. Die Spitzenleistung wird bei f/2.8 erreicht. Diese ist sogar höher als beim Sony 24mm GM 1.4! Dazu mehr unten im Text.**Pro:**- Sehr gute optische Leistung in nahezu jeder Hinsicht, einschließlich Schärfe.- Bemerkenswert genauer Autofokus und gute Fokussier-Leistung bei schlechten Lichtverhältnissen.- Klein und leicht – wenn man die Qualität beachtet- Hervorragendes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis bei 700€**Kontra:**- Starkes Focus-Breathing, was für Videografen erwähnenswert ist.- Signifikante Vignettierung**Vergleich mit Sony FE 24mm f/1.4 GM:**Hauptunterschied ist sicherlich die Blende 1.4 zu 1.8. Mit 1.4 kann schöner frei gestellt werden. Wer ein Weitwinkel Objektiv mit der Option der Freistellung sucht, sollte zum 24mm 1.4 greifen.Das Sony FE 20mm f/1.8 G ist fast überall schärfer als das Sony FE 24mm f/1.4 GM, mit Ausnahme der Ecken bei f/2.Brennweite: Für Landschaftsfotografie sind 20mm sicherlich deutlich besser. Die 4mm merkt man deutlich. Mit der höheren Schärfe kann trotzdem das Bild zugeschnitten werden. Hier ist das 20mm der Gewinner.Verarbeitung und Zubehör:Das Sony 24mm 1.4 fühlt sich minimal hochwertiger an. Die Linsen sind mit einer höherwertigen Beschichtung versehen. Unabhänig davon ist das 20mm 1.8 auf sehr hohem Niveau!Die Lichtblende ist beim 24mm innen mit einer extra matten Oberfläche beschichtet, welche weniger Licht reflektiert. Ist dafür sehr Staub-Anfällig. Die Lichtblende beim 24mm ist fest verriegelt, was beim 20mm nicht der Fall ist.Im Lieferumfang vom 20mm ist "nur" ein normaler Objektiv-Beutel vorhanden, während man beim 24mm eine Objektiv-Tasche erhält.Wer keine Freistellung bei 1.4 benötigt und viel Landschaft fotografiert wird sicherlich beim 20mm sehr zufrieden sein.

Use este lente en una Sony A7iii, resulto ser "mas angular" de lo que esperaba, el ángulo de vista es muy amplio, permite capturar paisajes con un gran ángulo de vista, su enfoque es rápido y silencioso.

La calidad del lente por el precio es incrible, desafortunadamente me tocó una unidad que traía polvo al interior de los cristales, una lástima ya que por el momento Amazon no tiene más inventario así que no lo podré reemplazar 🥲 lo regresaré y me quedaré con las ganas hasta que lo pueda adquirir nuevamente

la pensaba mucho pero la verdad me gusta mucho el Angulo y la calidad que este lente me brinda, lo uso en una a7iv y una 6600

I was after a wider angle lens and considering the GM 24mm as it's highly recommended by 99% of the photographers, but the lens price was holding me back from clicking on that 'buy now' button.When I came across this G 20mm f1.8 and noticed its price I got a bit confused for the similarities with the GM but costing much less. I read lots and lots of reviews and watched to many videos and honestly some of the reviewers were even recommending this lens over the expensive sibling GM in what regards sharpness and cost. The autofocus is fantastic!I gave it a try and I couldn't be happier. The lens is fantastic: lightweight, small and it's perfect for outdoors shootings and estate photography. On my first weekend with this lens I went to the Highlands and managed to capture stunning images. It was really worth it. It is basically a GM lens in a G body and price. It has all the features you'd find in the expensive brother, plus the wider aperture and lighter weight. The chromatic aberration is little to none and the vignetting isn't strong and easily corrected in post. The sharpness at 1.8 is really good. I have added some photos in this review to show what this lens is capable of.I have only prime lenses (by personal choice) and this one is definitely be kept in my A7III for a long time. I am definitely happy with my purchase and would highly recommend.

Un lente muy nítido. La focal es buena para tomar panorámicas y grupos de personas a una distancia corta. Por su peso y tamaño vale la pena como lente de viaje.

The lens is just as advertised, the wide view for overhead product shots and sharp auto focus is amazing , highly recommended
