The rest of my armrest was not broken, so spending the money on a complete replacement didn't make sense. The old one is bonded into the armrest, so removing it was a bit of a project. Also the new one is designed assuming that the piece around the one bolt would break off in the armrest, and the new one could just go over it. Mine did not break off, and the instructions say to use a washer or spacer in place, I opted to cut that section out of my old one for the best coverage.I used some Plastic welder epoxy, and got it all bonded in there. Works great!

Great option to the $90 replacement armrest and was extremely easy to install. Looks like it is going to be just as sturdy as the original.

This item fit perfectly, saved time and money. I almost replaced the door panel.

Do you have a Dremel or other rotary tool and several cutoff wheels? Do you like making a huge mess and the smell of burnt nylon? Do you have a very large bottle of CA glue? Do you have lots of time on your hands and a broken armrest? Are you too broke to afford a $90 part?If you answered "yes" to all of the above, then this product is for you. If you answered "no" to any, then definitely don't bother. This part requires extensive fitment and relies heavily on CA glue to remain in place and actually function as a door handle. I spent way too much time getting this part into place and fitting it, and while it is holding, I would be very surprised if it held long term.See the problem with these arm rests is they get brittle over the years with heat and time, so as the armrest gets pulled on to close the door over and over, the "claws" that hang onto the door frame slowly bend out, chip, and eventually break off. The armrest this fits has 3 such claws, but this only replaces one of them. If your door is like my door, then all 3 of the claws are broken. The original part is also made of injection molded nylon like this part is, but can it do the job of three other claws when it's attached to the armrest with only a single screw and a ton of CA glue? I guess only time will tell.If I could buy this part for $5 then I would give this a better rating, but it's quite expensive for something that takes this much effort to install and probably won't work. If you value your time and don't fixing something twice, I would recommend getting a complete replacement armrest (also available on Amazon) for about $90 instead that will fix all 3 attachment points and be solid instead of glued together. If this fix holds up for more than a year, I will come back here and update this review to reflect that.

Man, I was super bummed every time I went to close my driver's door prior to this product. Things would flop around, the handle was flexin, the switch holder fell out twice, until I purchased this repair kit.I had to dig out some pieces of the old GM craptastic plastic material, (most likely produced here in my home town of Dayton Ohio) but once I did. Oh boy. Did this thing work and work well. Everything fit well, and absolutely resolved my issue! Time will tell on durability, but from initial inspection, it appears to be a good material. Thanks seller! You've enhanced my life!
