This bracket is made just like the OEM bracket I received in my electric fireplace. One of the brackets broke in shipping and found this replacement on Amazon. The bracket is constructed extremely well and solid. The fit is OEM perfect. I highly recommend this bracket.

If you are replacing existing struts, the rating should be printed on the old cylinder. In my case for Kraftmaid cabinets, the old struts said 0125N (125 Newtons) and opened to 10.5 inches fully extended. I bought 6 of these (120N) and only ended up using 3 of them. I found that only replacing 1 side gave me the force that I needed to open gently and still close softly. Either the old struts were not the originals (Lowes floor display model cabinets) or these are overpowered. If I cared enough to return them, I would get maybe the 80N versions instead. Instead, I have spares and the existing mounting hardware seems to be more than adequately secured to handle the unbalanced lifting forces. The old strut on the other side of each door is still in place and supplies no lift capacity but does add some minor resistance when opening and closing which may help with the smooth opening and closing.I used the existing mounting studs - these fit the same ball size. I found that using a small screwdriver to gently slide the metal retaining bands upwards worked best - they don't have to come all the way off, just enough to release the ball stud. On the first one, I just tried to pry the band directly outward and it was much more difficult to do it that way - one side comes off and the other is now trapped inside and is hard (not impossible) to get out.I've only had them installed for a couple days and I have no idea what their lifetime is but since I didn't use all of them, I now have spares...

Somewhat easy to install. Spacing in mm printed on outside of packaging. Works well, no soft closing but that was good. Installed on overhead cabinet in my travel trailer. No problems.

Products received were not what I ordered. I ordered 5x 100N. Received 2x 100N and 3x 120N. It was not a big issue, I was able to use the stronger ones with no problem.. That said, two of the 120Ns appeared to have been previously returned, the packaging was opened. All parts were there but one of them is very weak and will not support the cabinet door as well as the old one it was replacing. Yes, returns are free, it's a hassle.The other 4 are good quality and a good value. I'd buy again.
