I concur with virtually all of the other reviews I have read on this. It has “middle school” written all over it, but that does not mean learners and admirers of any age cannot enjoy it as well. I agree that the “half size” aspect is somewhat a limitation. Perhaps they make a larger one that’s similar and I am not aware? I may simply be spoiled and old-fashioned, but the size globe that we baby boomers grew up with (about twice as large, but usually not a lighted globe) seems ideal. It would also enable the manufacturer to enlarge the letters of places.Of course the light is a nice feature, especially lending itself to a wonderful night light (for ANY age). In case anyone wonders, no, the globe does not automatically rotate, but it is turn-able by hand. Certainly I agree the product has educational benefits. I wonder, however, with some sense of humor, if younger kids are apt to think the world actually “lights up” at night! That’s ok; in fact it’s probably good because it prompts the child to ask questions about it – again reinforcing the advantage of educational value.I give this 9 out of 10 stars. 4 of 5 would not do it justice, but must take off slightly for the size hindrance.

We love geography around here in our homeschool, especially my youngest. I got this for his room, how cool that it’s a globe and a light! The base is a thin metal and not very heavy weight. The whole globe is very lightweight. The box didn’t have any instructions or papers with it, but I figured out how to unscrew the screw and put it in the bottom of the base easily enough. There is no USB adapter, which is annoying. I had to scrounge around the house to find one so I could plug it in. The globe looks neat when it is lit. I just would have expected a much higher quality item for the money.

Perfect Globe size with clear map and super easy read. I’ve got this for my son cuz he’s so much into planets ( He calls it Earth lol )It comes with a USB A end cord so it can light up with an On/Off switch very handy !Keep it mind it doesn’t come with the wall charger.One small thing to be aware of if you kids play with it is that the circulate silver plate support has kinda sharp edges and they can easily cut their hands if not very careful. That’s the only consWorth the price and great tool to teach kids about geography
