It's a decent reel but the knob on the crank is obnoxiously big. Thus the star deduct. It's ridiculous.

I purchased this reel to replace an ultralight reel that failed. It was advertised as a ultralight reel but in reality it is larger then most ultralight reel. I loaded it with 4 pound test line and mounted it to an ultralight rod. Over a 10 day trout fishing trip to the. eastern Sierra Mountains in California, I used it dozens of times. It worked very well. It is very smooth and worked flawlessly. As far a durability, I will wait to after I have used it a lot more. The only issue with the order is it did not come with an additional spool as shown in the add pictures. I contacted the seller and they were very responsive and quickly shipped out the spare spool. Overall I highly recommend this fishing reel.

Ok, it is made in China, and it is cheap. That aside, the Chinese are making a reel that is better quality than anything you can buy under $100.00 that is made in Japan or the United States, for under 15 bucks. All these review that said, if something failed, this thing comes with a full parts breakdown, and if you email the company they will send you anything you need to repair it, and half the time will send you a new reel to boot. I would bet my last dollar that 100 dollar reel has nearly identical failure rate out of the box, and the service is similar, or better yet, I have experienced that the more expensive reel will make you send them the reel and have about an 8 week turnaround. Granted, the big names will stand behind their product, but you will be without it most of the summer if it breaks early in the summer. This Chinese company will have parts to you in a few days. Bottom line, quality is similar, at 1/8th the price. I would love to buy American, but they tend to price themselves out of my budget range, and the huge problem for me is simple bang for my buck. Can't justify paying more for less. BTW I am happy with this eel, and saying a handle broke on the first fish is just ridiculous. I don't believe you.
