I got this to protect the hallway carpet for it is frequently a pathway impacted by my pet who has a medical condition.Con: all vinyl mats smell strange and this one definitely smells so I unrolled it and hung half out the bathroom window and alternated the other half for a day. The smell is still present but I can smell it less and less each day. The off-gassing is going to likely remain for a shorter time now that it is unrolled. Leave windows open to clear the air and the smell will soon not be present.Pros: I have a worn out low-pile carpet and the protector stays in place well. I think it will be easier to clean up messes from my pet much better than cleaning up off of the carpet.

This one was slightly more pricey, but it lays flat with more of a focus on quality. This doesn't come all wrinkled or bumpy. Pretty much lays flat out of the box. These days, everything is made cheaper, that's just the way things go now. This is a decent item.

It is as advertised. It holds up better than anything I’ve found in big box rolls. It provides enough material to have two(2) runners in my hallway. Lasts about year with constant daily foot traffic.

Doesn't stay in one spot and we kept tripping over it and got poked by the spikes underneath. Finally had to just roll it up and put it away. It does clean easily though.

We needed a runner to protect the low pile, office carpet from the grime, walking in and out of our machine shop through our reception area. I chose this one for the long consistent length. It is what we needed to eliminate a potential tripping hazard. (A carpet runner traveled). Although I cannot comment on the duration it lasts over time, it does meet our needs. Medium weight vinyl with gripping nubs keeps it in place. It will protect the high traffic area, It's perfect. It is rolled and a little stiff where it rolled tightly.I have a heavy rubber entry mat weighting it down, it's relaxing and straightening out. My only complaint, it's a little pricey, but will be worth it if it holds up. A side note: as another review stated, the one in the photo appears to have a wider boarder, mine has a 1" boarder. Not an issue here though. I recommend and would buy again.
